Full Walkthrough: https://youtu.be/ZqjM9opdob4 ★★★★☆ Story: Shoot love bullets to make people feel love again Gameplay: Fun and challenging to improve your rank and maintain a streak, however the last level becomes tedious due to the tight time limit and having to do everything again, a checkpoint wouldn't hurt. Graphics: Very good PC Requirements: Medium Here I will leave the cat, friends who pass by can pet it and give it a thumbs up /> フ | l /` ミ_xノ / | / ヽ ノ │ | | | / ̄| | | | | ( ̄ヽ_ヽ)__) \二つ
Pretty good game! Music is probably my favorite part but that's to be expected since it's made by ClascyJitto I feel like the game could've been more punishing for losing because i'm pretty sure the only levels that punish you for running out of time are the 3 final levels. The others just make you finish the level as usual with a rank and all. Still, I think it'll be quite fun to get the heart ranks on the levels!
I currently Didn't Beat the game but The Art style is so cool and I Love It's Mechanics! It's Awesome that one of the people that made the Pizza Tower OST made this. edit: hey I just beat the game the ending was awesome and wait this says episode 1 IS THERE GONNA BE A EPISODE 2?! edit 2:Ok i realized episode 1 means the is part of a multimedia series jc is making called joy centricica so ig no kipidon 2

finally got around to playing this last night and like. wow. actually what the hell. KIPIDON could actually be one of my new favorite games i've ever played. i genuinely can't remember the last time i've written a serious steam review, but this game is so special to me and so criminally underrated that i NEED to talk about why i loved it. obviously a lot of my love for this game comes from the fact that this game is heavily inspired by Katamari, and I am someone who genuinely believes that the first two Katamari games are the best video games ever made, but it would be reductive to just say that I liked it's similarities because it really goes so much deeper than that. I didn't just like this game because it's similar to my favorite series. I loved this game because, to me at least, it feels like it has a strong understanding of why Katamari is so important and applies that understanding onto a game that's also unforgettably unique and unlike any other game in the world. Katamari is a game that could only be made by Keita Takahashi, KIPIDON is a game that could only be made by JC. KIPIDON isn't just similar to Katamari because of it's similar sense of humor or the fact that you can't go five seconds without seeing mu's face. all of that is awesome, but the real reason this game feels similar to Katamari is because it's filled with so, so much originality. (there's also a lot of jet set radio influence and like i don't have much interesting to say about that but it definitely makes the game cooler lol) the gameplay is super fun, having that level-based arcade style of gameplay that i love helps of course. i'll admit that at the time of writing this review i haven't gone for that many high scores yet (only the first 3 levels really) so this isn't exactly as complete of a review as i'd want it to be, but i honestly just wanted to talk about this game as soon as possible. KIPIDON has a very interesting premise of being a shooter game where nothing is trying to hurt you and you're not trying to hurt anything, with most challenge being based around the time limit and some simple yet fun platforming gameplay. what this means is that, this game's all about efficiency and optimization, trying to come up with a route to take for each level to help you reach a high score. so lots of Katamari's central design philosophies at play here, but at it's core this game is still it's own thing entirely. The constant mix of platforming and shooting is a real joy and the combo system is a rather challenging mechanic to get good at which i find really compliments the rest of the game's simplicity in a very natural way. Both of these mechanics also make the game feel much more puzzle-like which i always appreciate. So the core gameplay here is already amazing, but this game has more than that. most levels have their own special gimmick, sometimes multiple in the same level, often changing between the first and second half. i won't really say any of the specific gimmicks because i find it more fun if you see them for the first time yourself, but i will say that they can range from a small additional mechanic or objective that changes the gameplay up more subtly to levels that have entirely different gameplay and controls from the rest of the game, just constantly throwing new and fun ideas at you. i mentioned how these mechanics can entirely change between the first and second half of levels, and i find that interesting because while in many other games that could risk a bit of incoherency and confusion, here i think it really compliments the game's sense of humor, visual style and just general "weirdness". oh and there's also a small handfull of different playable characters with their own unique movement abilities that add some nice variety. and on the topic of visual style. where do i even start here. this is one of the most visually interesting games i've ever played. all of the character designs are great and the way they translate perfectly between 2D and 3D is quite impressive. and the environments combine mundane locations with much more surreal colors and lighting to create something that feels like a playable dream, which is honestly how i'd describe this entire game really. my favorite aspect of the visuals has to be the 2D art, while both the 3D and 2D styles are great in their own unique ways, i really am obsessed with the 2D visuals. from the psychedelic menus to the drawings of whatever character you're currently playing during gameplay (very katamari-like lol), it's all just incredible. actually, one of the coolest things about this game to me is the damn LOADING SCREENS, these can have all sorts of randomized drawings featuring the main cast as well as some of the NPC characters from levels. any game that manages to make it's loading screen that interesting is like, automatically good. the characters, dialog and story are all great, really funny game. i think what makes this game's story work so well is the balance between not taking itself very seriously for the most part and still managing to feel completely earnest and genuine. like, most of the characters, particularly the protagonists, are generally very indifferent to the actual events of the story, which is central to the game's comedy, while caring deeply about deeply about their interpersonal relationships, which adds a real feeling of sincerity to the narrative. the balance of irony and sincerity feels perfect, and it's all really effective because i ended up genuinely invested about bèl and chime's relationship as well as the rest of the cast even with how simple it all is. what i really love about this is that none of this is truly "necessary", a game this simple could really still be good if it's writing was only concerned with comedy and nothing else, but i think it's stuff like this is the difference between good games and games that are really special. as for the humor, it's also great. i won't go into a ton of detail, but venus was a great take on a king of all cosmos-like character (he reminds me a lot of roboking but with a little bit less depression) and the 3 antagonists were great as well, some for the protagonists of course. also a huge fan of the results screens for each level. oh, and there's a Katamari styled collection for all of the people and creatures in the game and the descriptions are SO good. then there's the music. there's a good chance that you already know the music's gonna be good since JC is well known for composing for pizza tower (i haven't played that game yet, but now i have to just for the ost lol) and yeah, this soundtrack is incredible. i'm actually listening to the soundtrack right now as i'm typing this lol. it's always great to play a game where the music is done by the game's designer, really feels like the ost is integral to the experience, honestly hard to describe how it feels but it's seriously amazing. yeah so. i like this game. a lot. and it's seriously underrated, so if you're reading this and find any of this interesting, seriously give it a try. i sorta kinda feel bad for mentioning Katamari every 5 seconds, but to be honest i think being compared this closely to Katamari is basically the highest compliment i could possibly give a video game. wow that was very long. and there's still more i could talk about lol
i like to think we all love kipidon
JC made such a lovely game oh my goodness I LOVED so many of the levels and switching from Bel to Chime I feel like my jank keyboard made Bel's special spinny jump not work half the time which totally had me needing to get better faaaast AND I DID! The voice sound effects got stuck in my head so bad.. Venus' in specific did a lot I keep saying it randomly under my breath.. I also wish Nat got more stuff to do.. But every level is really colorful and fun to push through and I only really started to eat the curb when it came down to those latter levels oh my god i felt like such an idiot zooming through and trying to find the DAMN third bombs... and eventually i figured it out !! UH.. i am not good enough to beat any of those impossible challenge levels aside from the tutorial level one LMFAOOO somebodys gotta step up to the plate with that.. or maybe one day ill lock in and be able to see the bonus scene at the end... but for right now i cant see myself achieving it..
Lovely
I was obsessed with the demo. The music was top-tier as expected from Clascy Jitto, but even the gameplay and story really impressed me. Then the full game dropped, and it didn’t disappoint. The music was insanely great, just like I hoped. The ending was amazing too. Honestly, this is one of the most underrated games ever.
