Общие впечатления

Hidden gem! The Dev has put a lot of effort into making this game. He wanted to give us a variety of ways to die and he succeded. Not only that! The game is perfect in a sense that it delivers exactly what it promises. It is not about deep strategy. It is sorta rpg+choose yor own adventure (should I say "choose your own death"?) While looking through the discussion, I encountered the post where someone asked this standard stupid question "Is the game dead"? The answer of the Developer shocked me and I bought the game immediately. He tried to explain what shoudn't be explained at all. What else to add to the game when very few players will ever see most of the content? I sensed some sadness in his words. Dear Developer, some people sincerely appreciate your hard work and your creativity. There are very few games that have so much meaningful content. Of course your game might not be for everyone, but for those who share your view to what this game should be like, it is a masterpiece! It is so fun to explore the story over and over to see more endings. You had and idea and you realised it brilliantly! Another good thing about the game is that 8bit style. All in all, thank you for the game and I wish you all the best in your next prolects.
Not impressed. It's the Reigns series but with a bit more control on the direction (instead of swipe left or right you get a bit more insight on direct impact). Not impressed. Since most achievements are based on how to die rather than cool outcomes or pairings even less impressed. Gonna refund. shoutouts to the one ultra simp that is giving the jester award to any negative review, love that for you :P
Game over simulator. Fun for an hour max. The game tries to hide the lack of content & depth by killing the protagonist randomly and making you replay it over & over again. Sounds fun? Yeah.
Отличная игра! Хоть и коротко, но своих денег, явно стоит. Играется бодро весело и интересно! Хороший юмор, приятная музыка! Рекомендую.
A very repetitive cycle of death, that's neither visually nor narratively engaging. It's a slog with very shallow game play. Your only real reward for each cycle is an Achievement, which may be appealing to achievement hunters, but again there was nothing really memorable about each death.
KingSim, developed and published by Fuzzy Pixel Game Studio, is a charming and deceptively brutal kingdom management simulator that places players on the throne of a troubled medieval realm. With its pixel-art aesthetic and deceptively light tone, the game draws you in with its simplicity before revealing a complex web of choices, consequences, and often unexpected chaos. At its core, KingSim is a game about decisions—hundreds of them—each with the potential to stabilize or destroy your reign. The appeal lies in its unpredictability, its branching narrative paths, and the humorous, often darkly ironic tone that permeates nearly every encounter. The player assumes the role of a newly crowned monarch trying to hold a crumbling kingdom together. Your court is filled with advisors, warriors, diplomats, and opportunists, each bringing you choices that impact six vital stats: Army, Gold, Food, Health, Happiness, and Religion. If any one of these meters drops too low or surges too high, your reign could come to a sudden and ignoble end. What makes KingSim engaging is the constant sense of risk and reward. Should you increase taxes and risk a rebellion? Ally with a neighboring kingdom or attempt to conquer it? Indulge the clergy’s demands, or ignore them and risk divine wrath? Every decision shifts the delicate balance of your realm, and even the most well-meaning choices can spiral into disaster. KingSim leans heavily into its narrative-driven structure, presenting decisions through dialogue events that play out like an interactive novel. The branching storylines are impressively varied, with multiple paths, side characters, and secret endings that encourage replayability. Death comes easily, and often hilariously—sometimes from poor diplomacy, other times from seemingly innocuous choices. But instead of feeling frustrating, these outcomes feed into the game’s charm. There’s always something new to discover on the next playthrough, whether it's a hidden romance subplot, a monster invasion, or the slow corruption of your character into a tyrant. The writing is snappy and humorous, blending medieval tropes with modern wit in a way that keeps the tone entertaining even as your kingdom burns to the ground. Visually, the game embraces a minimalist retro style, with chunky pixel graphics and a warm color palette that give it a nostalgic appeal. The simplicity of the visuals doesn’t detract from the experience—instead, it highlights the game’s focus on choice and consequence rather than spectacle. The interface is intuitive, and events are easy to read and respond to quickly. Audio design is similarly minimal, relying on atmospheric chiptune-inspired tracks and simple sound effects that maintain the light, old-school vibe. It all works together to keep the player immersed in the decision-making loop without unnecessary distractions. The game’s pacing is brisk, which suits its structure well. A full playthrough can be completed in under an hour, but the replayability is where the real value lies. With dozens of different endings and a wide array of unique encounters, KingSim encourages experimentation. You’re not just trying to survive—you’re trying to rule in different styles. Perhaps one game you play the benevolent peacekeeper, and the next you become a ruthless conqueror or a puppet to religious zealots. These radically different approaches result in fresh outcomes and new interactions each time. However, KingSim is not without its shortcomings. As the game progresses, the limits of its systems can become more noticeable. Once you’ve seen a few of the key narrative arcs, some events start to repeat, and the illusion of a fully dynamic world fades slightly. The randomness of some outcomes can also be frustrating, particularly when a small decision leads to an unexpected game over with little warning. While this is part of the game’s design ethos—reminiscent of older roguelike traditions—it may not appeal to players who prefer more strategic transparency and control. There are also moments where balancing your stats feels more like trial-and-error than true strategic planning, especially when certain mechanics aren’t explained in detail. Nonetheless, KingSim succeeds at what it sets out to do. It’s a light-hearted but surprisingly nuanced kingdom simulator that offers players a sandbox of political intrigue, moral ambiguity, and unpredictable storylines. The blend of simple mechanics with rich storytelling makes it easy to pick up and hard to put down, especially for those who enjoy games where player choice genuinely matters. Whether you’re a benevolent ruler or a tyrant drunk on power, the kingdom responds—and often punishes—your actions with fitting consequences. It may not offer the complexity of a full-scale strategy game, but KingSim carves out its own niche with personality, creativity, and a touch of chaos. It’s a game that understands the joy of experimenting, failing, and trying again, one strange royal decision at a time. Rating: 8/10
