Gameplay
You click through text boxes and occasionally make decisions, which will influence events and how the game ends. You can save and load at anytime, and if you miss any text you can click the "Log" to see a log of previous text. I have to say, compared to King Fey Games last release, I did notice more prompts. The decisions didn't feel very. . . weighted, but I did feel as though I played a bigger part in the story.
Story
Ragnar the Silver-tongued tells us the story of how he saved the Kingdom of Vestland, using his famous "silver tongue". A "giant octopus monster" has been seen off the coasts of the Jarl Sven's lands. The Jarls reckon the beast is Kotallo, a sort of "boogy man" taught to children to keep them from swimming into open water. Turns out, he's actually real. He's bigger than the biggest longboat, and loud as "a thousand lions". With Kotallo on the loose, the Council is convinced that "The Cataclysm" has arrived. The Cataclysm is a saga which describes "eight mighty beasts" and a how they will "challenge man one by one", signaling the end of mankind. Kotallo is the first of the "mighty beasts". Ragnar is tasked with recruiting Freja the Valkyrie, with the intention of fulfilling the Saga of the Cataclysm. Apparently, a Valkyrie of the South is 'spoused to "ram his spear down Kotallo's mouth." She's the last of the living Valkyries (and why that's so is anyone's guess). Ragnar is to be accompanied by Helga, the Queen's personal shieldmaiden. She brings him the Spear of Odin, a weapon described by the Saga. With the Spear of Odin in hand, all that's left (to defeat Kotallo) is Freja and the "Serum of Odin" (which is later revealed). The game ends on a cliffhanger, based on the "eight mighty beasts". Here's a clue. Kotallo is the first. Does that mean that there is going to be King of the Kings: Part Eight? Because that would blow.
Visuals
The title menu looks unpromising. Plain background and offcentered text boxes. There are no "options" which can set from the title menu. Apparently, King Fey Games took a step back from their last titlescreen, King of Volleyball. The backgrounds look okay, but there aren't maybe to see. They are inconsistently styled. The character portraits also look good, but very cartoony. They are not varied, so you'd better learn to like 'em. There are few full-art pieces, all reserved for the endings.
Verdict
I have mixed feelings about this title. It's too short for the price and content. The story and visuals didn't impress me. You never get to see Kotallo. It ends on a cliffhanger (implying more publications). The visuals are unvaried. There was too many names and places front-loaded (without context, leaving me as a reader confused). The more I think about it. . . I lean on "Not Recommended." But by all means, I would give this tale a try when it's on sale. It fell short of my expectations, but it's worth a shot. Great boobies and nudity in general! Tasty sex scenes. Fitzherbert the Tits Pervert likes this a lot. You do need a patch to unlock these delicious goodies though. Fortunately Fitzherbert the Tits Pervert has your back, fam. Here is the link to the patch: http://kingkeygames.com/king-of-vikings/
Ben the Scorpion's Review for King of Vikings
King of Vikings is a viking-fantasy Visual Novel. Set in a fictional Viking Kingdom, you play as this Prince who works as the “Royal Negotiator” for his step-sister, the Queen Mathilde. As her Royal Negotiator, you have to go find this legendary warrior who left the Kingdom many years ago. You need to find her because there is this giant octopus monster that wants to destroy the Kingdom you work for. Plot & Writing I like the plot a lot. It has a cool low-fantasy vibe that takes heavily from Norse Mythology (No surprise there really given the Viking setting). You’d think being Viking themed that it would portray an ancient version of Norway or Sweden, but instead makes up a whole new Kingdom that is seemingly not an ancestor to Sweden or Norway, but might be. They make heavy allusions to “raids in the south” which may refer to ancient Viking expeditions to the British Isles during the Dark Ages. Clearly whoever wrote this did a lot of research into both Viking history and Norse Mythology as this tale is steeped in both references to the region’s rich history and mythology. The writing itself has a nice “classical fantasy” feel to it and is clearly heavily influenced by fantasy legends like Tolkien and Lewis. I particularly like the copious backstories and legends within the game. The world feels really fleshed out and big and that gives it a really nice Tolkien “Lord of the Rings” feel to it. The game itself is a little short, but you can tell that this is the first part of what might be a much bigger saga as they reference other epic creatures that want to attack their lands. If they do the other stories in this saga then I’m definitely coming back for more. Art & Visuals Visual Novels rely heaviest on two aspects, writing and art. As I said earlier, I like the writing a lot and I have to say that I like the art a lot as well. The character sprites are gorgeous and the amount of details in the dresses to give them that extra Viking flair is really awesome! I particularly liked the detail in things like the armor, weapons and the jewelry. In that sense, this game reminded me a little of “The Banner Saga”. The backgrounds are also really good and while some to me looked a bit more Early Medieval than truly Viking. I am however, willing to be a little more lenient on the matter as this is a fantasy game, not a “historical” one per se. The CGs are high quality and very nice, though I do wish that they had more of them as they are very nice indeed! Gameplay It’s a visual novel, so there really isn’t much in terms of gameplay per se. The choices are plentiful enough and they do matter. You can pick through some of the crazier options that give you some of the funny bad endings, but it’s pretty obvious which ones you should do to get the good ending. That being said, I do like how the game makes you interact with the world with the way you exist in it. In the sense that since it’s a Visual Novel, you interact with the world by talking rather than by fighting. It’s a smart concept and I like how we play as a negotiator (not a typical role one thinks of within the Viking world) rather than as a typical Viking warrior. Music I’m super impressed with the music. It’s big, massive and orchestral. Honestly, I’m kind of surprised that a small Visual Novel has such epic bespoke orchestral music. This is the type of stuff you’d have in triple A games like “Shadow of Mordor”. The music is thematically very appropriate and really gives the story a lot more flavor! UI Very basic and clear UI. Not the best or fanciest but also nice because it gets the job done. Conclusion/ TL;DR A solid Viking-themed fantasy Visual Novel that any fans of fantasy will appreciate. Good writing, art and music though a little short. Left me wanting more and looking forward to any sequels!

The game not bad the storys short but enjoyable tho i ended up haveing a problem finding all the endings intell the guild was posted if your looking for a quick game or a quick story to kill a hour this one is it.
Ha! This was a fun viking / norse themed visual novel. I choose to play with honor and loyalty for my people and suffered a horrible, terrible bad ending and it was glorious! For a great adventure and a saga of the ages (well, sorta) I recommend this game.
A história está bem construída em volta das personagens que representa bem o protagonista que tem fome para subir no poder para se tornar rei, começando por baixo e chegando ao topo. A trilha sonora está muito bem feita e espero mais dos jogos da King Keys Games no futuro. 10/10
The art is quite basic and the plot, short and simple, but quite nice if you are into Viking tropes , and soundtrack fits really well. On the down side, many jokes that worked on other games sound a bit off on this viking tematic, making it less imersive.
