Reviews
Do I recommend King of Retail?'
YES, BUT ONLY ON SALE The game is very difficult to get into for sure. All the tutorials are in a separate menu you can only reach from the main menu, called "business school" You will feel very lost at first, and I would say it takes several hours of a first playthrough to even learn the mechanics of the game, how customers and articles work, how to manage employees, and what to focus on. The first in-game week or so of playing you will barely be scraping by, and it's more focused on playing as a "worker" just to make the ends meet As you keep playing the game will be more and more focused on managing your employees, hiring enough people and setting up schedules so that the store can run on full auto without you doing anything, except ordering new supplies at the end of the day. While the game is hard to learn and slow paced at times, it is a very unique and enjoyable experience. The game is however abandoned since long, as the developer has been hard at work on the sequel, and there are quite a few clunky mechanics and minor bugs taking place, as well as un-optimized UI.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.44/day in the week to Aug 4 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Meh its okay bit annoying at times and repetitive
I bought this game during early access, and I had a lot of fun playing it! right before the super bug hit us in 2020, I worked and played this game. it was so much fun! I wrote out a schedule on a note pad for my workers lol both my husband and my co workers thought I was crazy (I worked retail at the time ;) ), and once you figure out the ordering system, man, it is a very immersive game, totally worth the price. I played for just about 78 hours and I think i'm about itching to play some more spesh now that it's complete, I am really excited to find out the new stuff! This is a game I will probably come back to from time to time to play, and for the price that's totally a fair expectation. Thanks to all involved in making this game. lots of fun :)
the game is not what is expected, it is fun for a little but gets really repetitive and there is basically no updates now, dont waste your money get another game, that looks a little more fun
Achtung Suchtgefahr!
To flee! Development came to a complete halt and the dev released a buggy version of 1.0 under the pretext of depression. Because of the engine, he couldn't do what he wanted to do and what he promised to do, so he took a very long break. But don't worry, because this guy who's supposedly on a break for depression has made good progress and is working on 2, so you'll have to go through the checkout again to get what you were promised in 1. Personally, I'm uninstalling and, as I'm not a fan of the way things are done in 2, I don't intend to buy it.
Das Spiel ist sehr gut. Leider ist es mittlerweile Tot.
Du wolltest schon immer mal deinen eigenen Laden aufmachen? In King of Retail ist alles möglich!
