Short adventure game that will keep you busy for about an hour. This is a first-person adventure game with the old-school interface. This means that you move around through static images and explore them with a mouse. The modern feature of revealing all hotspots is included, so you won’t have to waste time looking for items. In any case, there aren't many hotspots. Some even repeat throughout the castle floor. Although each can be examined, used, or picked up, the majority of actions have no effect. Because the action does not change based on the hotspot, you must switch between them using the right mouse button. Items are used by first selecting them from the inventory and then clicking on the hotspot. There is no item combination. Solutions make sense and you don’t need to look for crazy combinations. There are also a couple of logic puzzles that aren’t that hard. Since you find yourself in a hostile environment, death awaits at certain spots. It usually happens when you use the wrong action on a hotspot. Luckily, death doesn’t matter because you quickly return to the moment just before taking the action. UI works as intended, but there are some nitpicking issues. One is a slight noticeable lag each time you move the mouse cursor over a hotspot. Then there’s some frustration with the inventory bar that shows up when you move the cursor to the bottom of the screen. It doesn’t happen often, but it can get in the way when you’re trying to interact with objects at the bottom of the screen. A bigger issue is that the game’s text and hotspot names use the same space. So if you examine something, the text will go away the moment you hover over a hotspot. There are voiceovers, so it’s not that big of a deal, but it makes subtitles a bit useless. There's barely any story because the game simply ends when you climb to the next castle floor. All you get is a message to wait for the next chapter. Although this is a third entry in the series, you don't need to know anything about the previous two.
