Actually stunned by how piss poor this game is. KF2 will always be one of my favorites. How on earth could anyone justify releasing this? The game has been out for a year and it is just awful. Combat feels terrible, animations are stiff and distractingly bad. Absolutely ZERO soul. Everything interesting has been stripped from the setting. The new zeds are hilarious looking (not in a good way). What even are these weapons?? lol they look and sound like poop. Not worth buying even on a steep sale. Not worth installing for free. I am contacting support to have this game removed from my inventory and will just go back to kf2.
I have a decent amount of hours... for a game that deserves none... stop defending garbage corpo greed... The weapons, feel like trash. clearly ones are better regardless of class.. The characters the hero system. Yes it was "removed" but it is still terrible. Its childish. Its overwatch slop added to a game that was made by modders. Financed by the fans. And brought to life from die hard fans. I was young during those times. But I grew up with KF1 and KF2 This isnt someone hating because it isnt the old games. This is me hating Corporate Slop obviously releasing something that wasnt even made by TripWire due to corporate shilling. Killing games etc. The devs themselves even admitted they had to gut the hero specific perk mechanic and it was a terrible idea from the beginning. The voice actors we know and love. Gone. The game is dead. YES there might be 300+ players. But just stop huffing your farts defenders. The performance. Even on my rig. is atrocious. with random crashes. Random frame dips. I just. it is heart breaking. to see something like this happen to a series. Yes it is just a game, but even the basic person can be attached to a rock for crying out loud. Let alone you defenders and your Lolli plushie or Body pillow. Let alone a discord mod huffing his own ♥♥♥♥. The game also isnt hard at all. Its just boring. Easy. Meta driven. KF2? I could use any weapon. feel good but still barely survive. and feel great when I did survive. KF2 is barely surviving. KF3 isnt surviving. its dying. Slowly. but surely.
its like watching the wife you fell deeply in love with turn into an old hag
The shooting feels perfect but the whole game is cheesy and not fun. The creative direction feels like a mobile game.
So just spent like 20 minutes trying to change my keybinds in Killing Floor 3 just to finally give up and just request a refund, because 1: You can't leave ANY keys unbound, regardless of how pointless the feature is 2: The default game has context sensitive keys with multiple actions bound to the same key, but if you change those in any way, you can't rebind those actions to the same key. 3: I don't have enough buttons on my controller to SEPERATELY bind every single action. 4:The default alternate fire button is the shoulder button, jfc. It crashed like 8 times just preloading shaders and I still gave it a chance, but not being able to customize keybinds is a dealbreaker for me.
They added hours from the private beta to the final game so I can't get a refund. Can it get more scummy? Oh wait!, it can! They also made the game always online and on top of that, they don't let you progress while offline either. They force you to engage with the game's microtransactions and crafting with over five resources to complete runs, even while you play on normal. The game took a while in the "shader pre-load" process; much more than usual. I feel as if the purity of the KF games was compromised here. They took a simple concept and want to milk it for as much money as possible. No, I don't want to upgrade my character and weapons, and craft gear on top of gear, on top of freaking gear. No, I don't want normal to be extremely challenging to overcompensate for the upgrades I'm lacking. No, I don't need the graphics to be more demanding while not changing as much from Killing Floor 2. No, I don't need more systems and mechanics on top of a game that's fairly simple in concept. Just awful, awful experience.
Killing Floor 3 is a game that will probably disappoint many longtime fans, not because it's completely broken... But because it doesn't really feel like the Killing Floor they expected. That is why the poor player reception doesn't come as a surprise. For new players, my advice? Try Killing Floor 2 first. Right now, it delivers more of what people actually love about this franchise. Killing Floor 3 had potential, but currently it feels like a game still searching for its identity.
