About
Become an investigator in Keyword, a narrative thriller where you’ll depend on skills of logical deduction, hacking, and social engineering to solve challenging puzzles as the only means of finding your missing daughter. Play as Guo, a father with a complex past, who must use all the tools at his disposal to find his daughter, Sala.
Solve problems as you would in real life, hack into emails and social media, and dive into the dark web to find your daughter’s whereabouts, all the while uncovering secrets within your own home. Use binoculars to spy into the homes of neighbors, discover lurking enemies, and look over the city of Toronto to find important clues and put the pieces together.
Straddle the line between reality and the game as you depend on your natural intuition to guide you to your next step. With no dialogue prompts revealing answers it will be up to you to save Sala. Get lost in time loops as you discover if your past is all an illusion, or if it really is as you remember. Can all be forgiven? Is redemption possible? Or is there truly no way out?
Set in the near-future of 2048 in a city inspired by Toronto, Keyword merges cyberpunk with traditional Chinese aesthetic, creating an eerie and immersive environment.
Utilize binoculars to tap into your investigative side and uncover if people are who they say they are.

What a great mystery game that has some, hmmm...interesting twists along the way! I really appreciate a thorough detective game that gives you the keys to the car, offers to help ONLY if you really need it, but otherwise lets you drive. The use of a digital notepad is a brilliant stroke, and one I've only seen in a single other mystery game. I think that this should have become standardized by now, and I hope more games learn to adopt this very simple but amazingly affective tool. Not only did it help me to remember little details, but what puts you more in the shoes of a detective than jotting down notes that may or may not be relevant to your case?! I won't spoil more of the "out there" aspects. I will just finish up by saying you should play this if you want a moderately puzzled game with some fun mechanics.
For me this is a classic example of a game that I want to give a "sideways thumb". It has some really great aspects - the ambience, the concept of the binoculars mechanic, the idea of the detective being in a locked room instead of the victim. However, there are a couple of things that didn't work for me, and that really detracted from the experience: - The bizarre change of pace and style in the middle "spiritual" section was perplexing and annoying, with lots of boring dialogue that you can't skip. - Some of the visual searching is very tedious and immersion-breaking because of the very small asset pool that is used to furnish the buildings you can see into. The price seems high for the experience it provides. I'm not obsessed with dollars per hour of gameplay, but this isn't a consistently good enough game to justify the price given its length (I clocked 3.5 hours and I was AFK for 30-60 minutes of that as I forgot I left the game running). Overall I would say this game is worth buying if you love trying new detective-style games and it's on a good sale.
What a fantastic spin on detective/investigation games. You play as a private investigator rapped in his apartment, and his daughter has been kidnapped. You use your computer and collect information from outside your window to gather clues, digging into a very intriguing plot that has a lot of cool twists and turns. The puzzles are very logical and there's a very well made hint system that nudges you just in the right direction without completely giving puzzles away. Overall a great game, very fun
Good short puzzle game. Took me around 3 hours. Two hours if I didn't step away from my computer, and potentially under that if you never get stumped. Basically the premise is you use clues from the internet and your vantage point over the city to spy on and "hack" people, but it's like real-life hacking, that is to say, you are just figuring out what their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ passwords are since apparently nobody in 2048 Toronto has 2-factor authentication. But I mostly kid. If you like neat puzzle games and games you can finish in one sitting, this is a good one. And I am excited to see how they expand on the concept in a sequel.
