This game was honestly a huge ripoff. It is filled with various annoying bugs. The loading times were painfully long. And everything just feels incomplete. With the base price of 12€? A ripoff! Do not buy this abandoned garbage. Not until Gus Martin fixes the issues. Who knows, maybe he won't fix 'em. All in all, it's just a very buggy game. I absolutely do not recommend this. Currently it's just a waste of money. And I had to give a negative review. Even the tutorial section had bugs!
Game no longer works right, hasn't been updated in a year or so. I guess the Dev gave up.
I was so excited to find a game like SimGolf that I jumped at this and bought without reading reviews or watching gameplay videos, and I regret it. This game only does landscaping well - everything else is just frustrating. Frustrations listed below: 1. AI is dumb. They all take the same route on a hole, which is usually wrong. Forget having an offset tee box or a dog-leg, the AI just tries to yeet the ball around/over the rough/trees of your dog leg. 2. AI will just seemingly break and stop teeing off when you use the Course feature. 3. Pricing makes no sense. There's no guidelines to how to control the economics in this game. 4. The AI will just stand at random spots while waiting to tee off, including in the middle of the fairway. 5. AI tee off in order and go to balls in that order - so even if the third player in a foursome rolls a ball 10 feet off the tee box and the rest of the group is 200 yards in the fairway, they will all go to player 1's ball, player 2's ball, and then all walk back to the tee box to watch player 3 hit their 2nd shot. 6. There's no rhyme or reason to the additional services you can add, or how to improve them. I'm sad, as this game looked like it had a lot of promise. Do you research before you buy, as always.
Dont waste your time or money on this game it is a piece of garbage. Can someone please remake sim golf properly.
The aesthetic is really nice, and the concept is really cool, but it's just not done well in many ways. It actually makes me a little sad, because I would love for this to be an amazing game, but it's just got too many flaws, with not enough going for it. EDIT: Not just flaws, there are multiple completely game breaking bugs. I just had a bug in my main game, where I've spent many hours, with a total networth of 3.6 million, and it's now a useless save, because a bug happened where I won't be able to progress at all. EDIT: It's even worse than I thought. There are memory leak issues, where my game is now running at less than 1 FPS, I kid you not. I have allocated more memory, and turned all the graphics down to their lowers, and it's still less than 1 FPS. This game is made incredibly badly. One major point for me, and other achievement hunters, is that there is a broken achievement, that is impossible to get. I've tried it in all game modes, across multiple computers, with different operating systems. I've also complained to the devs, and they said that the code was working. The way they worded it, you can tell they didn't actually test it. The game is broken, and you can not 100% it. The AI system is quite important (the golfers play golf), and it's also quite bad. You get huge lineups, very quickly, and there are bugs where the golfer will get stuck, and never hit his/her ball again, forcing you to close down the hole and reopen it. The physics for the ball when playing golf is really bad. You'll get completely random bounces, where it will be flying practically straight at full speed, but when it hits the ground it shoots into the air. Other times it will take a mad dash to the left randomly, for no reason, with completely flat ground. Incredibly unpredictable. There's a lot of spelling and math bugs. The game tells me I made 74k last month, when I made less than 10k. Just things like spelling errors, bad wording, etc. The UI is a bit buggy too, where it will show up when it's not supposed to. The writing is bad, and not varied. You get people saying what they liked and stuff, which is a cool concept (like from Rollercoaster Tycoon), but there's literally one response for each type. If they liked it a lot they say X, if they didn't like it too much they say Y. So you hear the exact same responses constantly. Also, what's written just isn't interesting, when that's supposed to be the draw for this idea. A lot of graphical glitches too. Pathways clip under terrain so there's splotches of green. Trees randomly disappear and reappear. Characters will stand dozens of meters away while hitting their ball. The economy doesn't really make too much sense. There's just not enough stuff for it to be a real management type game, which is what builders are. There's not really much at all to manage, aside from how much you charge per hole/course. You basically just sit there, waiting for your money to go up, so you can build some more. There doesn't seem to be a real challenge, or thought, or management, or anything, behind it all, which "should" be the driving force behind the gameplay mechanics for a builder. The good of the game is firstly the aesthetic, as I said, and secondly, what you build. The graphics are cute, and everything flows together quite well, and it's genuinely a fun experience to build a golf course. It's relaxing, and creative, so it is a fun concept, but all the other flaws really make me sad, because I wish this was a better game.
Honestly, don't use the tutorial. Fails to explain a lot of things and is more confusing than helpful. Spent 45 minutes going through the tutorial because I couldn't do so many things that should just work (rotate rooms, seating etc for the buildings). Spent ages making an awesome clubhouse, tried to place it, and was clearly way too big and had to get rid of it. Playing your course isn't explained well at all, I still have no idea. Hoped to be something like Sid Meiers Sim Golf, but fails on so many levels. Haven't played enough to give a real recommendation, but just need a break after dealing with the tutorial.
Go play Golftopia.
Had the potential to become something good. Clearly abandoned without cause.
This game could be good. It is currently plagued by a ton of bugs. Sometimes play will stop during tournaments. The participants will have scores of over 3000. Tournaments should last 3-5 days depending on the number of participants but if you start a tournament don't expect it to end for a year or so. Sometimes you will see your income completely broken. The game will show you are making 90k a month and only spending 60k, but you will lose tons of money constantly. This would be a fun game if you are into this kind of tycoon type game if they would address the weird bugs and make it playable.
Don´t buy this game, I tried building three different courses easy or hard. Players just quoue up and you lose money. Bug after bug and the person that designed this game probably never set foot on a golfcourse.
