About
A free-roaming squad based RPG focusing on open-ended sandbox gameplay features rather than a linear story. Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a warlord, an adventurer, a farmer, a slave, or just food for the cannibals.

Research new equipment and craft new gear. Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business. Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh desert. Train your men up from puny victims to master warriors. Carry your wounded squad mates to safety and get them all home alive.
Freeform gameplay in a seamless game world in the largest single-player RPG world since Daggerfall, stretching over 870 square kilometers. The game will never seek to limit you or restrict your personal play style.
Custom design as many characters as you want and build up a whole squad to fight for you. Characters will grow and become stronger with experience, not just in their stats but their appearance too.
Build a base where you can research new technologies, upgrade your defences and craft new gear.

Original take on the RTS-RPG hybrid genre. No "hero" characters with artificially stronger stats than everybody else- Every character and NPC you meet is potentially an equal, and has a name, a life.

You are not the chosen one. You're not great and powerful. You don't have more 'hitpoints' than everyone else. You are not the centre of the universe, and you are not special. Unless you work for it.

Purchase and upgrade your own buildings to use as safe fortified havens when things go bad, or use them to start up a business.

Variation and possibilities of gameplay. Be good, be evil, be a businessman, be a thief, live in a town, live in the desert, travel alone, travel in hordes, build a fortress, raze a city. Devote yourself to freeing slaves, or maybe end up a slave yourself.

Dynamic, ever changing world. Support or hinder whoever you wish, or keep to yourself, the world won't stop moving. This is not just a "game", you are living and surviving in a simulated world.

Get captured by cannibals and eaten alive, or sold off by slavers and forced to work in the mines. These are not scripted events, just a regular part of this chaotic world that ruins your life by chance. Anything can happen, yet anything can be overcome if you have the strength.

Absolutely no Level-scaling. The world does not level up along with you, and the shops don't change their inventory to only items matching your level. At the start of the game almost everyone will be stronger than you, and survival will always be a struggle. The game won't hold your hand or help you when you're down.

Realistic medical system that affects gameplay. A character with a wounded leg will limp or crawl and slow the party down, wounded arms means you must use your sword one-handed or not at all. Severe injuries will result in amputees needing robotic limb replacements. Blood loss means you can pass out, and the blood will attract predators. A character’s stats are affected by equipment, encumbrance, blood loss, injuries and starvation.

Intelligent AI that allows for characters to reason and work towards long-term goals and desires. Squads work together and carry their wounded to safety. Characters can be setup to take care of micromanagement for you and run production in your base.

Aid or oppose the various factions in the world while striving for the strength and wealth necessary to simply survive in the harsh environment.

Independently developed with no design influences, or alterations dictated by men in grey suits who have never played a game before in their lives.

Original game world. There are no fantasy-knock-off clichés. No magic.

Spawned, left the Hub, got enslaved after being KO'd, escaped and died in the wild due to wounds. 10/10
el peor juego que he jugado en mi vida, goty for ever, ansioso por kenshi 2.
Mad Max meets wandering Ronin tropes. What's not to love?
Great game. One for the ages. Can't wait for Kenshi 2.
Melhor jogo do mundo.
This game is hell, but in the most fun ways possible. I don't understand why it's fun but it is.
very unique rpg, might be one of the best I played
Meilleurs jeux all time, ont attend kenshi 2 avec impatience,et biensur la beta multijoueur deja que REkenshi en coop est banger,tu n'est pas le personnage principale,tu commence au dépourvu dans le grand desert des CU,ou en tant que vagabon méconnaisable avec un baton rouillé dans des terre arides dangereuse,le jeu peut avancez sans toi c excellent, enfaite t juste une ptite merde ki se fait tabasser par tous le monde et aprés avec acharnement et grind tu peut devenir imbatable c magnifique je recommande ce jeu les yeux fermé !!!!
Very steep learning curve, can feel overwhelming and a bit unfinished/unpolished but once you understand the basic mecanics it becomes a true sandbox with lore in which you can write your own story fully the way you want. For example, my frist few playthroughs were just surviving and getting by with a small gang trying to evade wildlife and slavers while looking for a safe place to setup a small base and a farm. The funny thing is I eventually figured out is that there is no safe place in the world of kenshi, when picking a location for a base the game forces you to consider which threats you are willing/can deal with and which you would rather avoid or cannot deal with. Playing as an adventurer / trader solo or with a small group without a base completely changes the gameplay as you will need to approach the game differently and will face different challanges and threats while traveling. Fast forward to current playthorugh, I am waging war on one of the major factions, harrasing their patrols, inflitrating their cities, stealing tech and valuables, and kidnapping leaders and nobles to destabilize their cities. The captives I then offer to their enemy (Shek & Skeletons) and that way I am forming alliances to form combined attacks and takeovers of their cities, one by one, untill the faction is completely shattered and no longer a threat. And after that its on to the next faction. In case you are wondering, my campaign list is the Holy Nation > Smaller slaver factions and the slave market > the United Cities and the Traders Guild > Cannibals, bandits, hostile hive's, fogmen, thralls, and eventually march a massive army to crush CatLon and whatever is left of his empire. Then there is the workshop with mods ranging from simple content additions to mods that completely overhaul the game, mechanics, combat, factions, and more lore. There are DLC quality and content level overhauls like Genesis for example! Wrote this at 999.7 hours in and I dont even know what playthorugh I am on at this point but Kenshi is still going strong. 1000% recommend.
Love to get enslaved, escape, train my fighting skills, almost die, lose some limbs, and get enslaved again or eaten by cannibals and wildlife. 10/10.
