About

Build your survivors a base where they can rest and trade stories between adventures. Farm crops, tame alien beasts, incorporate salvaged technology and fortify your home against hostile intruders

Prevailing in combat will require more than just point-and-click. A detailed hit simulation and health system will mean that even non-lethal hits can render a survivor unable to go on. Suppressive fire might pin an enemy in place, but the ammunition used up may leave you ill-equipped to fight the next encounter effectively

It's a big world out there. To get around you will need better transportation than your legs can provide. One of the things setting Ascent of Ashes apart from other games of this genre is the ability to restore and drive vehicles.

Each survivor has their own unique personality and motivations. As colony leader it is up to you to find and recruit capable survivors to fill gaps in your roster against ever increasing challenges. Can you keep everyone happy, secure and motivated?

You will find yourself in an expansive, procedurally generated world filled with different biomes and points of interest. To survive the post-apocalypse you'll have to brave the pre-collapse ruins and the many dangers that they hold.

It's not enough to just have an in-depth combat system with a variety of mechanics. You also need opponents capable of using those mechanics to challenge you. Enemies will possess varying degrees of intelligence. Taking on a disorganized band of raiders will play very differently from fighting a squad of well-trained Remnant soldiers.

Combining the deep simulation of classic post-apocalyptical survival titles with the tactical challenge of classic real time and turn-based gems, the original creators of RimWorld's heralded Combat Extended mod present a fresh take on the colony sim genre that emphasizes exploration, tight balance and strategic gameplay.

Our team has its roots in mod-making and we've been fortunate to have been part of many great modding communities over the years. That's why with Ascent of Ashes, we want to give something back to those communities. We're building the game's engine from the ground up to be easily extendable, and thanks to our extensive experience in creating mods ourselves we know exactly what kind of support mod-makers need. Ascent of Ashes is a game developed by modders, for modders.

I would love this game so much better if you could save. And better controls. Overall i want a game like this... And this game is SOO close yet flopped with the bugs issues with playing the camera view could do with some work the enemies can be tweaked a bit same with just combat over all. Again.. the game is so close. I am just sad its not really playable.. should have waited and not done early access just wait till the game was really good really playable not too many issues and it would do so good. As of now if you can avoid the bugs the game can be quite fun and I see the vision. I am hoping for the update to drop soon so I can change this review to a thumbs up.

I do not see this ending up as anything but abandonware. 1/4 of a game, no key binds, no inventory, not so much as a window to fast select your people, no start customization. At best its a shell at worst its trying to make money off another IP that did it 1000x better.
I wanted it to be good and a RimWorld killer, and I hope in time it will. It is not that time. Maybe will return to the product in later stage of development, for now it's bare bones, and a poorly optimised ones for the time beeing.
As of writing this review, there is little to do in the game, and its very boring. I build a 2 story house, hunt some animals and die horribly during expedition. The combat is simple and similar to that found in Rimworld. I had an issue with loading a save. On the flip-side I like the graphical style. I hope the game will be develop further.
Had been following the development for a while before it had released and was very excited. After playing it for a while the game has so much potential. In its current state as of writing this review it is pretty bare bones but has has core functions down like base building, task allocation, and expeditions. Even has a fair bit of items and customization options. You will end up hitting a progression wall as most of the crafting materials haven't been implemented yet. Overall I believe its in a good state for such a small dev team. For only $15USD Id say its a good investment to support the devs and watch this game grow
Four months with no updates, game doesn't work, half baked system. I want a refund.
It obviously wants to be a RimWorld clone, but boy does it show a lack of understanding what makes RimWorld a great game. I am sure the combat is better than RimWorld's, and yeah I think RimWorld is better with the CE mod, but I am already bored without getting to the point where someone needs to fire a gun. Everything in the game reminds of RimWorld, but somehow in a considerable worse execution: art, music, UI, sound, style, ... - and that says something considering that RimWorld is 12 years old now. I said RimWorld one too many times now, so bye!
