Keeper of the Day and Night

This is the second game in the series, and although the first one is already good enough, this one is just stunning. It's so touching and appealing, especially when depicting the unique background stories of different characters you have close relationship with. The romance this game provides is one of the best in game history. Also, it provides an exceedingly immersive college experience and a fantasy magical world; Different choices in the game can lead to completely distinct story; full 10/10, really looking forward to the next game.

Really enjoyed reading through this story! At the time of writing this I've only done one play through so im not sure how much variation there is with the choices. But its hooked me enough that I want to go back and find out! Its worth mentioning that this is a Sequel and saves can be carried over from the first game. Choices in the first game effect things like your species and relationship with characters however you can make these choices as well at the beginning of this game, if you don't feel like playing through the first one. Though I recommend you do play the first one if only because its just as entertaining.

Both games are amazing, a fully fleshed out world with a variety of interesting, unique characters. Can't wait for the next one.

Keeper of the Day and Night, a second installment that follows Keeper of the Sun and Moon, is a massive improvement in the author's ability for storytelling and pace-setting. There was courage to write vulnerable, heartfelt lines as well as the creativity for humor and plot twists. Some scenes, especially action ones, are very bare bones; Even an event special to your MC is nothing more than a narrative, descriptive page. If romantic interests is your main draw for CYOA games, Keeper of the Day and Night breathes more life into that, as well as into the rest of MC's friends. This story impressed me a lot more than its predecessor, mainly that it had characters that realistically cared for MC's well-being, which was being reasonably deteriorating. Too many games pitch the MC as "all-smart, all-powerful, all-loved" and those have become tiresome to read. I did, truly, enjoy this installment so much more. The characters are so wonderful and none too annoying. One did worry me because she came across too much like a Mary Sue, but it all remained free of that nonsense to the very end. Still, pace-setting leaves room to be desired, as there are still abrupt transitions that leave you floundering on what just happened. It's like watching how a cake is made, and then you are given to taste it--but no time is given for you to savor its flavor, its texture. It is simply a cake, the chef tells you, and there is nothing more you should do to it than eat it; And that's no way to enjoy a cake, nor is it a way to enjoy a good read. The story has such great potential of becoming a truly great read. It's unfortunate that it's basic things like this that are keeping it from being truly great. All in all, this was an enjoyable read, and so I truly recommend this one. I've become a fan, in fact, and am very excited for the next installment.
