Keep Driving

A beautiful road trip and turn-based roguelike fighting game. I couldn't afford AC and my first run nearly ended when I was stuck in a traffic jam in the desert. I survived thanks to my "eco-driving" card and help from the mechanic hitchhiking in my backseat. Then after making it to a gas station, a hippie gave me a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WEREWOLF ASSO CD. Best game ever lol.

I like the style of this game. The pixel art is very nice and gives it an overall comfortable world to explore. The background art on this game is great. I really enjoyed driving past the fields or climbing the mountain! The cities look busy when you're driving past them and the stores you visit all have their own charm to them. Your character selection is low as in boy or girl, and the pixel are slightly varies between them but you do get to select from a drop down menu of backgrounds for them, you gain more as you complete more of the game. The character will also gain points they can spend to gain new abilities to help them during road events. I found the road events or "combat" in this game refreshing and easy, although you can choose to make it more difficult if you want, by customizing your character at the start or by being a deviant on the road. The roads all have their own different hazards that you have to deal with as well as the hitch hikers you pick up. Oh, man the Hitch Hikers you find in this game really adds to it. You find a variety of people randomly throughout your playthrough that will give you quest you can complete. They level up riding along with you and can assist you in your road events, some of them come with really handy abilities. Others can give you hefty negatives if you don't know how to build around them. I personally enjoyed "The Bride" quests line, she is a fun character, and "The Hiker" with his goal to climb the mountain. There is multiple endings to this game and some of them trigger by completing hitch hiker quest. The music in this game is really good. I never heard of any of the bands until this game. I gotta say "Holy Now: Places." is my jam. It has a good variation of music going for it as well, the downside with the music is that you only have a short amount you can cycle through at a time, and can get a little tedious after playing for few hours, but it fits the aesthetics of the game and the timeline the game world is in. I wish we had more options for vehicles to choose from and character models, is some of the only negatives I can say about the game. I found some bugs off and on, throughout my playthrough. One game crash, but nothing too egregious. The funniest bug I found was a visual on my car with the wolf spray paint, after getting into mud and having it repaired there is a gap between the front and rear doors that is gone. I can see the background as I drive about. :D TLDR: Art: Good. Music: Good, Gameplay: engaging and short
