Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.57/day in the week to Aug 7 → 0.86/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Reviews
Definitely one of those "games that secretly sucks" games, but is glazed so hard due to nostalgia. And sure, the music and presentation and vibes, too. Lots of reviews on Steam are from people who already played this game's original release, almost none seem to be coming from fresh eyes. I really only got interested in this game a few years ago after finishing Takahashi's Wattam and watching a streamer friend play Katamari. I finally got around to playing it now. Definitely mixed impressions, but you know the game after a few levels. So here it goes. Pros ✔️ Amazing music. ✔️ Good presentation, art, aesthetic, writing, etc. ✔️ Nice extras like an encyclopedia of what you've collected, constellations, etc. Cons ❌ 30 second countdown timer noise. Perhaps the most obnoxious unavoidable sound in video game history. Apparently no way to disable it. ❌ Inconsistent physics. Game says if you're bigger than something, it'll stick to your katamari. That is false. See that little toy that you are 5x bigger than? Yeah, it just stops you and makes you lose mass instead. See those flowers that are essentially weightless and you are 10x bigger than? Yeah, they just stay there. See all those things that are 1/10th your size that you roll over and they just stay on the ground? Yeah, F that noise. ❌ Controls. While the first 2 Cons aren't enough to give this game a Thumbs Down, the god awful controls are. Both control schemes suck. Fans will gaslight you into thinking the controls are good, you just gotta learn them. Or you gotta "git gud". No, the controls suck. Both schemes. Why Takahashi didn't just use Super Monkey Ball controls is beyond me. I've read explanations, about more precise turning or more realistic perspective, yadda yadda yadda. Nah, BS. Controls are bad and we all know it. Intolerably bad. Why is up/down used to turn left/right instead of just...left/right? Why are Dash and other moves, depending on scheme, so unresponsive? This is just the tip of the iceberg in how bad the controls are. The controls would be somewhat forgiven if each level didn't have a timer on it, so you could just take your time on the level while dealing with the awful controls. But no, the timer just compounds the unfun and illogic that is the controls. That's about it. If you're new to Katamari, you know what you're getting into on the surface. But beyond the veil lies sinisterly terrible gameplay, masked by amazing music and presentation. Unless you like bad controls and misery, save yourself the trouble and just listen to the OST.

weird and unpleasant
such a classic... good for a break from the regular shooters
音楽があまりにも良い
the crazy thing is the controls for this game are very similar to the controls on a skid-steer loader so if you took a grumpy ♥♥♥♥♥ out alchoholic construction worker and gave them the controls for this game and said "it steers like a bobcat" they would probably actually do really well
Ce jeu est mieux qu'un psy car le grand ROI va vous aider à rouler sur tous vos problèmes ! Attention aux effets secondaire par contre car ceux-ci vont vous faire remuer la tête en permanence et sentir le cosmos :O
It okay.
I originally was introduced to Katamari Damacy through their PS Vita game when I was a kid and it was an absolute blast- When I saw the original had a remaster I wanted in on it to know how Katamari started. The biggest struggle was probably the tank controls that I assume are unchanged from the original- I have plenty of experience playing tanky games like the orignal resident evils or silent hills, but this was still a bit of a learning curve for me. Eventually I did get a hang of it, but it can definitely be a turn off for first time players. I had tried to play reroll before on Xbox and quit because of this. Honestly though once you get past that its a blast. Its a simple concept of rolling and making the ball bigger to reach goals bestowed upon you by the King. It's about 5 hours if you're not a perfectionist, so it's quick fun, but also replayable to try and get better scores on each level. Overall I highly recommend giving Katamari a try, even if the controls can be a bit difficult at first. I love Katamari Damacy
This game takes me back to 2004 when it was first introduced with the PS2. I still have the original in perfect condition and I am enjoying this version as much as the first. Everyone who hasn't played this game should try it. You won't be disappointed!
Its Katamari- you get to roll and collect objects and grow into a bigger ball- its incredible :)
