Great game. Reminded me of old games such as "Sim City/Command & Conquer/ARPG with King of the Monsters SNES Game" It was fun, always keeping you on your toes.
SimCity 2000 where you play as the monster. Demolishing cities is fun!

TL;DR Flawed but fun. The Fun: 1: Deep base/resource management. 2: High level of challenge. 3: Each Kaiju has around 30 different abilities they can train into. 3: Some characterization and flavor text of your chosen Supervillain, Kaiju and minions. The Flaws: 1: Monotonous beginning 2: Buggy 3: Slow-paced 4: It barely tells you anything about what you should do and what you're up against. This is really the biggest flaw. You're told little about how the mechanics work and have to learn through failure on a first playthrough.
It isn't a game you'll pick up or need to pick up to play, rather it's a game you just play cause you had it already. I did enjoy the game but after finishing the game I had to give it a 'no' since it is a game you can probably find from other games similar to it but without bugs nor achievements hidden behind a pay wall. I enjoyed the game cause you can pretty much play it mindlessly once you get the feel of it although there are many stuff not explained well or were hard to understand, not until you actually mess up and would either scum save back or start a whole new game. I would suggest using a walkthrough as you enjoy it better with it and less stress from all the scum saving. As for the bugs, there are some bugs that made the game hard to enjoy. First, if you play a long amount of hours an error window will appear when you attack a city. It's a small matter since you can just close the window and load the autosave but it is still a minor bug that 'could' have been fixed. Second bug was also if you play for a long time. The game will start to slow down in frame rates and you would have to close the game once more. It's another small problem but it 'could' have also been optimized. Third bug is when you build alot of stuff in your base, the game once more slows in frame rates which forces you to leave the 'secret base' tab for that certain period when you are making the buildings. And you bet it there is a fourth one, This happens when you fast forward the speed for a prolonged time. You will be unable to select buildings until you 'save and exit' You can't exactly do all the achievements as the added fourth monster is a DLC, I would also like to note that some achievements are 'really hard' to get since it forces player to keep the enemies alive that would take you hours to play even in the fastest forward speed to complete. Overall, it's not a good game for people who doesn't like bugs or for 100% achievement seekers. It's fun but not as fun, just mediocre. Just an easy game that probably little kids can play.

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS ISSUE???????............................... the game starts fine. the creature appears on my screen, but heres where it gets conky................. the creature is in the middle of what appears to be water (but really just blackness) Ican tell its water because of the rippling waves when it moves. Then, I see a piece of a building on a small corner of land............ I head towards the land......... then I cant go any further!!!! I get the monster on the little piece of land in the bottom right corner....but it cant go anyplace else!!!! It's like the whole map is cut off or something!!!!! Apparently, I cant recommend a game I cant play :0
This game had a great idea but was poorly executed due to being build out of string and duct tape. I still paly every now and again. I've never seen a game that needed a sequel or even a spiritual successor more. I was surprised they didn't come out of the woodwork after pacific rim hit the theatres.
This is actually the first ever game i got on steam. pretty weird how out of the 100,000 games on steam, i got this insanely obscure, borderline abandon ware product. And just cause, i decided to revisit this an leave a review so lets start with the positives: Positives: - The game's concept is easily its best aspect, just the idea of controlling a big ass frankenstein, mechagodzilla rip-off, or a my little show of horrors refrence is just the perfect generic monster cast to destroy a city. (well technically there is grey goo but who tf actually bought that dlc lmaoo) - The game is clearly made with fun in mind, (and a clear goal) there is nothing more to the game than a base, some monsters abilities, cities to destroy and thats good, the game is relativley simple. - The Xcom-esque base is pretty fun to build even if materials can be a pain the ass sometimes - I like the cities they picked of course, i would have added more, and even if that ment having some be removed, like why the hell is washington d.c not an attackable location? Negatives: - Patrols are up your ass if you can't have the patience to deal with all 200 trillion of them too bad bucko, - Purpletonium seems just like a cheap way to gatekeep you speed running through everything and beating the game i get it but isn't this supposed a game about y'know having dumb fun? - The waiting times are a pain in the ass, you don't do anything in that time you just do absolute ♥♥♥♥ all, in the late game this becomes a real pain. - Okay im not of a graphics guy i actually could give less of a ♥♥♥♥ but some do so I'll include it anyways. the art style is very conflicting, you see straight up pixelated buildings, cities, people, tanks, jets and all that other ♥♥♥♥ when your at base and or attacking a city, in the hud and menu's its a completley difrrent art style i get this was a small studio with not much budget but c'mon you could atleast made the menus pixelated and the monsters aswell - I really hate how boring attacking cities can get sometimes its just doing absolute ♥♥♥♥ all, as you click and wait for them to recharge while you monsters auto-destroys everything and you wait there ♥♥♥♥ in your hand waiting for the city to surrender, while you hear the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ music, the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 2 sound effects for them shooting at you and 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ same sound effects for your monster breaking stuff - the game becomes a slog mid-late game Conclusion: i think the negatives outway the positives still fun tho 5/10
Playing as a giant monster and demolishing as much as possible. It's fun.
