About
Kaamos is a bite-sized turn-based puzzle roguelike where battles are fought by matching tiles on a grid with looping rows and columns. Build your character and deck of tiles by looting equipment from your foes. Traverse a dark medieval world where the Sun went down and never rose again.

Face hostile opponents in duels to the death where you see enemy actions in advance. Match tiles of the same color on a grid where dragging a row or column loops it back on the other side in order to counter the incoming onslaught of enemy attacks. Stab, crush and cleave your way to victory.

Equip powerful weapons, armor, and rings to change your tactics and tile selection for battles. Want to be a dual-wielding berserker, an evasive duelist, or a knight clad in heavy armor? With over 180 items there are interesting build choices and playstyles for every player.

Navigate a randomly generated dark medieval world filled with madness. Unravel the mystery behind the disappearance of the Sun or fade into the darkness. You are not alone. There’s always something lurking in the dark behind every fork in the path.

I really enjoyed all of this game, with the one complaint that there is not enough of it. I think this system could potentially go even deeper, and I would have loved a more extensive world and more content in this particular style. I hope the dev continues with this world and these immaculate suomi vibes into the future!
is good, should try
Not very good. Don't get.
Simple, addictive, elegant match3 roguelike. Fun, spooky style and presentation
(shoutout to Buried Treasure for sending me the reccomendation). First off, this has really excellent Steam Deck integration if you use the Deck Template, it's rare and much appreciated as it's a perfect Deck game. This is pretty fun! Nice loop and some depth, although my first couple of runs I've gone for armour/defence builds which makes for a pretty slow grind so will try going more aggressive next. It could do with some more depth and balance tweaks, plus maybe some more unlockables, but if you're at all tempted by a puzzley match 3 roguelite it's definitely worth a shot.
Simple, but really fun. I feel some of the defense systems could be tweaked a bit to feel better, but I'm not a game designer, so. 4/5
Rating: 9.5/10 Kaamos is an incredibly addictive and fun puzzle roguelike. The core gameplay loop is tight, rewarding, and hard to put down once it clicks. The music is fantastic and gave me strong Loop Hero vibes, atmospheric, calming, energetic, and perfectly matched to the gameplay. It adds a lot to the overall experience and really pulls you in. My only real wish is more content. More levels and different final bosses would push this straight to a 10 out of 10 for me. The foundation is already there, I just wanted more excuses to keep playing. Highly recommended if you enjoy puzzle roguelikes with a great soundtrack and a satisfying gameplay loop.
i wish you could do combos and not have a new set of tiles each turn, but despite that, i enjoy this twist on match 3 puzzle games. it's in my rotation of roguelites i play when i wanna kill some time on my steam deck.
A minimalistic Roguelike with a wonderful aesthetic and unique core gameplay mechanic. Keep in mind that this game is very lean in its design, especially compared to most Roguelikes/lites. Specific heroes and bosses have unique mechanics that add some little twists, but otherwise the gameplay doesn't change up much. Still, the puzzle system is quite engaging at base, enough to last for the game's intended length, either for a few hours to get a couple wins, or ~10 hours to win with each hero if you're dedicated. There's a nice interplay between the four tile types and a flow to combat where smart choices can be about which tiles are most valuable in a given turn, not just finding the biggest tile combo. It is a shame though that the idea isn't pushed further, it definitely feels like there is room to layer on some more interactions/mechanics without making the experience feel bloated.
This game is really well designed. It's a roguelike that really make you think about your turn. The last boss was a nail-biter, and I didn't expect that from a 10 dollar game. I'll definitely be working on completing all the achievements. The music and look have a nice charm and nostalgia for anyone familiar with gaming on the NES and other consoles from that period. Definitely check this game out if you like the genre.
