The combat mechanic is like Arkham Shadow + Until you Fall! Highly recommended, especially at this price. Its a good workout too. Combat is quite polished. This is early access so I hope they add more environment, more enemy types, more content!
Finally a VR action game where your movement feels fluid and responsive. Slashing and punching your enemies has this feeling of impact that most games don't tend to have. I'm really looking forward to more content once they will leave early access.
Great game, lots of potential. I was able to play this before it was released, and it has gotten a lot better.
Great workout and fun game. It's intuitive, fun, and a better workout than most other workout games. It's like a workout version of Until You Fall, and much more of a workout than that game, even in that game's pseudo-punching mode. I have been waiting for a nice, simple workout game that functions just like this. Punching is the best workout I've found in VR, and you can do 100% punching in this game which is great. You can also use real shadowboxing punches, you don't have to do some weird wonky swing or something (like in Until You Fall). You also have the option of using a katana sometimes, which is also a lot of fun - good job giving the player options! You also have to dodge/squat, which is the other element of a good VR workout. All around good pacing and workout rhythm. It's just intrinsically fun to punch bad guys and this is the best game I've found for that in the form of a constant workout flow. Suggestions/downsides: 1. Punching directions should be clearer. The direction of the first punch is not always intuitive and the visuals don't make it 100% obvious to me without pausing for a split-second to parse the instructions. I would love it if the visual design were more intuitive so that I didn't have to actively think about it. 2. Punch combos could be improved and could have more variety. The punch combos make sense in terms of alternating hands and switching weight on a basic level, and I love this. But there are too many hooks and uppercuts for my taste, and I almost never see a jab/cross. I wouldn't just do all hooks/uppercuts in a boxing workout, the punches would be mostly jabs and crosses - consider more thoughtful punch combos. I want the classic 1-2-3: jab-cross-hook. Perhaps light enemies can be finished with jabs/crosses and the heavies need the hooks/uppercuts? 3. Consider a "free punch" mode/option so that I can use punch combos that I prefer to work on; scoring is not important for this. I'm nit-picking here with these comments because the game is so good. I can tell the devs are very thoughtful and care about creating an excellent player experience - I'm so glad I found this game because it is just want I wanted.
If you’re looking for a VR experience that makes you feel like the protagonist of a high-budget action flick, Just One Man is the adrenaline shot to the heart you've been waiting for. This isn't a game where you can afford to sit back and strategize; it is a relentless, fast-paced test of reflexes that demands perfection! Gameplay: Precision Meets Chaos The core of Just One Man lies in its seamless blend of fist and swordplay. Enemies are aggressive and refuse to give you breathing room. You are forced to dodge incoming attacks with physical movement and parry melee blows with split-second timing. Attack with extreme precision to thin out the crowd before you’re overwhelmed! The Samurai Aesthetic The soul of the game is rooted in high-octane Samurai gameplay. There is a rhythmic elegance to the combat—a "flow state" that you enter once you master the parry mechanics. Every movement feels intentional, making you feel less like a guy in a VR headset and more like a legendary warrior holding the line against impossible odds. The Heartbeat of the Action A game this intense needs a score to match, and Just One Man delivers an awesome soundtrack that is worth the price of admission alone. The driving beats keep your blood pumping and synchronize perfectly with the movement on screen. It transforms the "high-octane" gameplay from a tagline into a physical sensation, pushing you to move faster and strike harder as the music swells. The Verdict: Highly Recommended Just One Man is a masterclass in VR action design. It rewards skill, punishes hesitation, and keeps you coming back for "just one more run" until your shoulders ache and your headset is fogged up. If you want a VR game that actually challenges your reflexes and makes you feel like a total badass, this is a must-play!
i give the full game as of right now a solid 9/10. its improved very well from the demo, but i think the game needs more content, and has many more opportunities it could and hopefully will take. if it does that, i will gladly give it a 10/10, because it already got a amazing base. just needs more content.
A very nice little VR title. Lots of potential for future greatness. The game features cool hack and slash action that makes you feel powerful. Graphics are nice and stylized and the soundtrack is also very good. Runs great as well. Worth its price for me already, and a great purchase for VR owners during any sale. Will definitely be looking out for future updates.
