Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/g_TUdQx1o5Y This is a fun workout game. It kind of reminds me of Until You Fall, but obviously a simpler budget version. You'll basically be following the prompts quickly to punch, dodge, duck, swing, block, dash, and use your special ability. The levels are short but action-packed. I was sweating profusely after only about 30 minutes. The visuals are simple. The levels are simple. There's no real campaign. Just levels that ramp up the challenge. You also have leaderboards for bragging rights. It's fun for what it is. I see it as mostly an alternate VR workout game that you can play for 15-30 minutes like once or twice a week to vary your VR workout regimen. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 5090, I was getting a steady 90 fps. While you can play seated, I recommend playing standing to get the recommended workout. Also, it seemed to be more consistent dodging when I dodged at a higher angle. Rate 7/10.
Please note: I received a free Steam key through the Steam Curator Connect program. Best game I suck at. It's not JUST a skill issue. This game generally has got ways to reward skill with combos and variety of attacks. But I also am middle aged and entirely out of the shape required to get to the top of endless leaderboard. And that makes me cry into my retirement fund that I can't access yet. Being sad will not stop me. Having no arms left will stop me, but we're not dead yet. I already spend eight hours a day working at my desktop monitors. I need something that stops me from becoming like one of those slurpy drinking, floating seat wearing potatoes on the colony ship in Wall-e. There is also the level unlock campaign mode which will give you the tickle of progress, so I can, if I wish, keep my own scores entirely private while I practice and then return to dominate the leaderb.... yeah, right. I'm kidding nobody. But you... you could be the hero that CAN. This is a hugely fun VR game that fits that perfect niche which other arcade fitness games have carved out (Pistol Whip, Blaston, Sucker Punch) and even on par for those who like to effort but without the confines of a rhythm game. It definitely can offer a workout like BeatSaber, Cybrid, Ragnarock, but without the need for dancing. I suspect that if you want to get really sweaty in this game (and you don't HAVE to, it's still satisfying to slice 'n' dice) then it's on par with Thrill of the Fight for a calorie burn. Great for quick demos too. Great for youngsters to get some exercise. It's a cracking add to anyone's VR collection. And because it's so pick-up-and-play, it's also addictive. Additionally, it's also sit-down-and-collapse. Which is a good thing, because after posting my PB on the Endless mode leaderboards, I need a rest. Disclaimer: I played the demo a fair bit, and helped a bit with testing. So I did get a key for this game, but I enjoyed it so much I immediately gifted a copy to pay it forward.
THIS GAME SLAPS. I genuinely believe these guys have created the best feeling melee combat in VR. This is like if Until You Fall and Pistol Whip had a child, arcade-style, combat spectacle with head-bopping tunes on the side. It is an Early Access, so there isn't massive amounts of content, but well enough to keep me entertained. And even having played the demo, I can tell you the difficulty and depth of the scoring system will keep people occupied. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of content the devs add next! And man, you can dual wield katanas!
Great first impressions! After spending a lot of time with Blade and Sorcery I've been searching for a VR sword game with more of an emphasis on speed and style based combat and this really scratches that itch. Kind of an apples and oranges situation, but never the less really enjoying the soundtrack and the overall aesthetic. Really works up a sweat too!
The combat has a nice flow, visuals that work well in vr and it provides a good burst of action
Just started playing and I'm already hooked! I really like the feel of this game, you can do tricks with the swords and slashing the enemies feels nice and satisfying. The graphics are stylized but I feel like they fit the aesthetic of the game and the controls are relatively easy to master. Haven't had this much fun with a VR-game since first trying Beat Saber. Highly recommend this game!
Great game If you want to get fit play this game. This game is a workout that get you sweating
Didn’t expect to get this hooked, but it really puts you in that samurai mindset. The combat feels really good and satisfying once you get used to it. It’s simple to pick up but still fun to master. Definitely worth trying.
Incredibly satisfying gameplay! Good pacing, crisp controls, great soundtrack. One of the few VR games, possibly the only one, I can play long sessions without any nausea. I am even feeling some physical exercise while playing! I will be coming back to this for a long time to get the top scores.
Played this game during the alpha testing phase. Really enjoyed how intuitive it was once you get into punching the enemies left and right. Definitely a workout when you get immersed into the environment and action. Looking forward to further development of this! :) If you love VR combat, definitely get this one.
