Just Like Golf

Yes, it is a golfing game like Golf With Your Friends and Golf It at its core, but the execution is something to behold. Cross any of those with G-Mod and Angry Birds, and you get the idea. Each of the eighteen holes has you pulling back on the slingshot pre-loaded with a bald human being, launcging them towards the hole you probably cannot see. He'll slip and bounce and probably miss his home entirely. It doesn't help your first shot doesn't aim at the goal, though it will each shot after. You can move the camera left and right, but that's it. Avoid the obstacles, sink your shot, and try to stay under par. It's a bare bones game that, honestly, started getting dull by hole 11 for me. There's nothing that really stands out beyond the aforementioned gimmick, the controls are too minimal, the lack of additional camera angles makes the shots harder in every respect, an empty soundtrack/score, and an options menu that barely has anything worth mentioning. Works as a gag gift for golfing game fans on Steam, but other than that Just Like Golf is too basic and simplified to hold anyone's attention after a brief while. Hopefully the dev will add maps and camera options. This could be a fun, cheap comedy version of golf, but it needs more. Until then, even at $3 (US) sale price ($4 regular cost), you're better off passing on Just Like Golf and waiting to see if anything more is done with it.
