This is a simple game but well done for what it is. The environment design is minimalistic but it has just the right combination of visuals, sounds, and music to create an eerie atmosphere. The story and writing is surprisingly good. One very cool touch is that some of the cars are modeled after famous vehicles from evil car movies -- I recognized Christine, the demonic car from "The Car", the "Jeepers Creepers" truck, and the semi from the movie "Duel" (I think even KARR from Knight Rider might have been in there but I am not completely sure). This is definitely one to try if you are into this type of game.

Junkyard Fury is an unusual indie/amateur game, a spin on your usual Unity first person horror game in that instead of being jumpscared by some asset flipped monster, you get attacked by cars. It's an interesting premise for about 30 seconds. I don't know if this game concept has the legs to translate to a AAA kind of gaming experience, though, and without high production values to back it up, this is a bit of a painful experience. One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game assets are fairly mediocre/low quality, in some places they appear mismatched... Ultimately the quality of these assets, and thus the overall visual quality is lower than average, and low quality always makes for a less than optimal gaming experience. Remember, we're looking for the best of the best of 100,000+ games on Steam. The game features lazy low-polygon "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the mid 2000s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality game this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? Junkyard Fury has the completely unrealistic cash grab price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam. For comparison, the $5 asking price for this game could get you games like "X-Com 2", "Fallout: New Vegas" or "Portal 2". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. remember slender the eight pages? well its basically that , but you find keys instead of pages , and you are hunted by possessed cars.

This game sucks, but I had a brief laugh.... so yeah.

AT LAST A TRULY ORIGINAL SURVIVAL HORROR!!! Man, this game is surprisingly fun and challenging, with an interesting story and an incredibly spooky atmosphere! Really, if you are wondering why on Earth should you be scared by a couple of old and rusty cars, then look no further, and play this little hidden gem blindly. Cheers guys! PS: the sound of the engines reminded me of GTA2. It brought back A LOT of delightful memories. It was worth both my time and my money just for that.

a simple, fun game you can play for parties. A small premise but executed perfectly! Each map is redone and the Car Anomalies are all sweet references and homages to popular car horror movies! immediate thumbs up as a car horror fan!!!
