Jumping Knight is yet another of literally hundreds of 2D retro pixel platformers infesting Steam. This boring precision platformer features wall jumping, double jumping, and a greyscale + red pallete and is otherwise completely uninspired and unoriginal. The technical implementation here is terrible. The developer couldn't even work out how to make the game run in full screen, so you have to play it in a window. Resolution and controls are locked, and can't be changed or customised to improve the visuals or the control experience. A choice was made to use obsolete retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. These flaws push this game far below minimum acceptable standards for PC. The worst part about this shovelware is not the joke $5 USD price tag (they seriously want $5 for this!), it's the way they're using it to advertise and sell NFT's. The NFT's aren't integrated in the game at this point, so I guess Valve won't have a problem with it being on Steam, but you know, NFTs and gaming should stay far, far apart.
Best ending ever.Highly recommend. If u want quick and fun gameplay
I really enjoyed this game. It's not too long, finished it under an hour after many deaths, but it was extremely fun. It's a bit rough around the edges, but has a lot of potential if worked on a little bit more. For example, I couldn't find a way to play it fullscreen, so I had to maximize the window, but that doesn't feel right. Also, there was some lag, especially when more objects are around together. There is also an issue with the sound of falling blocks not being in sync with the actual movement. A few English language mistakes, too. And sometimes, the game would freeze or just close, just like that. Other than that, I'd say it really stands out among other cheap indie platformers. The graphics are good, there is no music, but the background sounds really make for an eerie environment, and the platforming can be challenging in some parts. I would really love to see future updates of this game. As I said, it has a lot of potential and I can certainly recommend it.
There is potential here. And it is not utilized.
Small nice game. Has some issues, like randomly shuts down and no fullscreen option. Also needs controller support, achievements (none so far) and possibly cards. I enjoyed it and still going to recommend it if you can get it for $1 or $2 on sale or in a bundle.
It is a shame that this game has so many technical problems because it really is very stylish. I love the macabre artwork and atmosphere, and the jumping feels tight and responsive. Unfortunately it is brought down by a lot of small annoyances: The default keybinds are bad and cannot be remapped, there is no key for quick restart upon death (you have to use the mouse to click 'restart' every single time), it cannot be played full screen, and it frequently crashes to desktop (fortunately this is not a huge problem since it continues from the last checkpoint when you restart the game). The game is also very short, and most players will complete it in under an hour (my playtime reflects the fact that I played it through twice). In summary, I do recommend it but only at a deeply discounted price (I paid around 50 cents for it). As it stands it is not really a complete and polished game, more like a demonstration of the developers' potential. I hope to see more from them in the future because they do have some genuine talent.
finished it in 25 minutes so it's really short, there aren't setting of any kind and everyone would probably appreciate some steam achievements
