Well, after playing a little in this beautiful game, it's time to write a review. The game is a 2d platformer with very beautiful graphics and a good story. Pros: -very beautiful graphics. -The game will start on any potato. I think in 2020, everyone already has at least 1 GB of RAM. -There is a system of special abilities for the character, which can be changed. -The game also has multiple endings. -There is support for several languages. -Cons: -there is no map, you can get confused at the level. -no multiplayer or co-op mode. I would like to play with my friends
These are my first impressions of Two Parsecs From Earth. This is not a review. If you wish to watch a visual version of this write-up, please check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIdI_ERfUrs -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Two Parsecs From Earth is a 2D platformer with some promise, but ultimately, as a metroidvania, it's very barebones and uninspired. First off, the game is littered with grammatical errors for the English version. Both in the game itself and the steam store page. The in-game dialogue also comes off as “Engrish” as well. The game immediately barrages you with dialogue boxes upon playing. The game plays it off as tongue and cheek, fourth wall humor with an emphasis on ribbing the player. But you'll be constantly assaulted with messages from your own character about how you need to climb a ladder to traverse this area or going as far to refuse to get an item in a crevice, not because your character can’t, but because "he doesn't want to". I’d say it’s the laziest form of writing if it wasn’t ironic. But the problem is that none of these attempts at humor are endearing, it’s all just annoying. The gameplay is pretty weak. The game offers multiple paths based on abilities you pick, but the abilities don't feel like they lend themselves to the level design. You can choose between different abilities that will lead you to different paths such as double jump or dash for the first upgrade. However, the areas you navigate through are very narrow, so you'll have less use for some abilities other than for specific spots. And in these narrow spots, you’ll be dealing with enemies that can go right through walls below you and kill you in a single hit. The game isn't hard, but it's baffling that the developers would put these design decisions in the first hour of their game. Making it immediately un-enticing to even try it past the Steam refund timer. The environments lack detail. While some of the animations for the NPCs and your character are fine, you'll just find a lack of any meaningful direction. You're a robot on a primitive-looking planet. Nothing really stands out. No interesting enemies, fun abilities to interact with the environment. No lore or story really. Nothing. However, the music is decent and some of the sound design is pretty good! Overall, I can’t recommend it. It’s just very lacking. Especially in a competitive market where you can grab similar metroidvania-style games on shoe-string budgets for the same price or even cheaper on sale.

Very interesting metroidvania, considering that this is not an AAA project. A small group of developers have created a very worthy competitor to games of this type. The game is entertaining and dynamic. I only have admiration! Only positive emotions.
This game does everything I hate in a mertoidvania. One hit death, clunky jumps, either/or choices that cut off half the game's abilities. Just terrible.
Little broken robot Metroidvania - find your parts and upgrades to go to new areas. Quite funny, fun and really cute. Can be challenging but shouldn't take too long to play through if you're a veteran https://youtu.be/U_6lPtRzFMU
To be honest, this is my first experience in such games. This is a genre that has not been discovered for me. But I felt ashamed why I hadn’t noticed such games before, I don’t even know. My journey into adventures in the metroidvania genre began with this game, probably not in vain. I really like this colorful world full of mysteries to be solved. In the description for the game, I read that there are 8 endings ... it's mega cool
Visually stunning and with good effects, but the gameplay is designed to be infuriating, frustrating and even annoying. There is no "play" when you have to count on pixel timing on some of the challenges. There is no "play" when you lose your achivements if you die (and you will die) and you have to begin all over again from the start of the same room (unless you get out intact from it). There is no "play" when you are forever stuck on some challenges, without the possibility of backtracking, and without any option but to repeat until the milliseconds are so accurate as to allow you to escape. There is no "play" when you can't see where you land if you jump and therefore is like doing archery while blind: you just depend on sheer luck, not calculation. It's a pity because it has al the visuals, the aesthetic and the right effects yet everything else is an awful experience, possible intended to replace a bigger map or more diverse challenges with simple walls of frustration.
You can't even imagine how many nerves I spent on this, and then I thought, But I played continuously for an hour, it is very exciting
