Doing my part to ensure this game gets the attention it deserves. A great story-driven game that feels polished. I think this game beats most slashy, roguelike, gimic games that come to VR. Buy it now!
Good game! Has a bit of everything: action, puzzle, story. And it's based on the Asimov books! No achievements tho :(
j'en suis à la moitié et je ne regrette pas, l'histoire m'interesse et je m'amuse avec toutes les differentes phases de jeu. le jeu meriterait d'avoir pu beneficier de plus de budget encore pour une experience visuelle plus important, mais prenez le
I just started barley even an hour yet i think i might like it i love Azmov and foundation too.
Almost unplayable with the Quest. Video and Audio is sturdy and X button is used for the menu so closing your left hand to make a fist difficult because then menu screen with pop up.
Yes please, more. This is one of the very very very few VR games out there that is an actual complete experience. The story is top notch. Even if its based on the Asimov books at the very least they brought that world to the game well. The interaction mechanisms are various and fit the context of what is happening. Locations are cool and feel detailed. The combat...it could have been better. Combat is not bad actually, it is just nothing special. With all that said, I recommend the game. Let us support developers who dared to make an actual game in VR.
6/10. Aggressively linear, middle of road adventure game with a decent story, above average, fantastic voice acting, and below average everything else. Took ~6.5 Hours to roll credits on PSVR2 via PC adapter. I would say stay away if you do not like Telltale style, narrative driven, "talking heads" games. I am a huge fan of the books, kind of hate watch the show. This game attempts to do a hybrid of both, while telling it's own self contained story, planets, culture, cast of characters. The voice acting is pretty great. The writing is pretty alright. Every once in a while, the environmental design would have a tiny spark of beauty. The graphics and gameplay in the game are otherwise reminiscent of a Wii game. This thing screams a shelved quest 2 title that they pulled off the shelf, started development on, and reached first draft pass / "minimum viable product" stage to publish before their studio went bankrupt and closed. They probably intended to go back on a second pass and flesh things out, patch in better graphics, refine the gameplay, but never got the chance. As a PCVR port goes, it is functional.... but excessively bland for a VR game published in 2024. What really kept ruining immersion and enjoyment for this game is the subpar texture work, simple level geometry, sci-fi stylized textures and geometry/architecture, next to cartoony graphics humans, and the god forsaken low res static 2D billboards used every chance they get for exterior environment LODs/backgrounds. The baked lighting and shadows are pretty terrible most of the game, and the dynamic lighting and shadows, Screen space reflections, and global illumination are non-existent. The game has locomotion, but the walk speed is atrociously slow, which makes gunfights feel like the most boring thing that has ever existed in a video game. The shooting is not fun. The sights on the gun are not only right hand dominant, but also coded for right eye dominance as well, and there is no options for angle of gun adjustment, etc. Biggest sin, can't grab the gun from your holster without the holster being withing your Field of View. Like, the gun and holster don't exist until you look down at your hip. Drove me insane. The game is constantly, annoyingly, bringing up button prompts to "skip" traversal sections like climbing a ladder. Sometimes, you will randomly be climbing a ladder and your hand will just randomly not "grab" the next rung. The level layouts and gunfight sections are aggressively linear, and atrociously boring. The stealth gameplay is non-existent. The puzzles are boring. The "mental powers" are a gimmick, and are a cheap replacement for writing/building the game around a more robust RPG system, or investigative/detective dialogue system, with more substantial branching paths and choices. There are a few major narrative turning points/choices in the game, which are nice.... but the feel like which flavor of Koolaid you are going to drink in the grand scheme of things. I think I really struggled to slowly slog through this game, with the story/writing and dialogue the only thing keeping me barely awake, and keeping me going. By the end of the game, I was only left with hollow disappointment for what this game could have been if there had been more time/budget to flesh it out more. Can't really recommend it, but some might enjoy it more than me at a sale price. I think I am not going to remember it a few months from now.
I believe this game deserves a better rating than 'mixed'. It's a solid linear adventure with good voice acting and Telltale style choices. If you're not familiar with the TV show or books I can see the lore being a little overwhelming but it does have an encyclopedia of optional info to read. The gameplay isn't super in-depth but the story pushes everything along, its never boring. When you're not having conversations and making pivotal choices you will be having shoot outs with 3 different blaster types, some light exploring, and occasionally "hacking" doing the same type of puzzle each time. Performance wasn't terrible. I just wish the ending wasn't a cliffhanger.
Is this a VR game or a game in VR? A game in VR. It has all the bells and whistles of VR experience, but everything is linear and there is no VR freedom, this would probably be a better experience on flatscreen. Who is this for? Only for people who want to see more of that Foundation worldbuilding. There is a lot you have to be ok with to actually enjoy this game. Why can't I recommend it? First, coming from the visually spectacular TV Show, this is just disappointing to look at. The graphics are very poor and there was no way to boost them despite playing this on PCVR - they are built and locked in to run probably on Rift or something, you can see better graphics even on Quest 2. Graphics I could forgive if the gameplay experience would be fun, however everything was so damn linear and you could only do stuff only one way, I had absolutely no fun playing this. Sure, there are choices that you can make during the game to be aligned with one side or another or have people survive and such, but even then there is so much obvious foreshadowing for things but there is absolutely nothing I can do about it despite clearly knowing what will happen next. The mentalics gimmick, that gives you psychic abilities, is fine and all, but it's just gimmick because there is no progression on your powers or guns or anything. You can switch your gun between different modes but that's about it. Aside from that, there is nothing really interesting you can find in the world, which makes exploring the map a chore I only did so I could have more options in dialogues. And even after all of that, the game is way too easy and with no options for difficulty selection. I blame devs trying to make this game as accessible as possible to everyone, but realistically nobody new to VR, like they expect, would be picking up this game. Any good points? There are a couple of interesting puzzle solution, despite not being implemented in a meaningful ways. Your choices matter, I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
