i love this game. the aesthetics hit happy sensors in my brain. the music is genius -- the melodies are unpredictable but comfortable. i've listened to the songs for a few hours now but i still couldn't hum the melody accurately... its great. the movement is intuitive but very difficult. luckily tho, the game isn't too punishing. each platforming section is kind of separate from each other, so they almost play like levels. you can never mess up bad enough that you lose hours of progress. i've become completely enamoured by this game and i can't recommend it enough if you like precise platformers / metroidvanias
I was so excited to play this game! The concept of controlling a two-legged arachnid sounded so cool. I loved learning the different skills and trying to master the obstacles. Exploring the mysterious lair and finding all of Joshua's prostheses was so much fun. The game is challenging. I also loved the ominous original soundtrack, it added to the overall eerie atmosphere of the game
Despite its steep learning curve, once you get a hang of the controls, it is a super fun game to play. It basically recontextualized everything that I, as a metoidvania fan, took for granted - jumping, wall grab etc etc. There are some minor ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that can come in the way of players, but given that the game is in early access, I am sure the developer will fix them eventually. Mechanically, the game is solid and is certainly an ideal games for fans of the Metroidvania genre and/or Getting Over it.
Acrobatic movements are not easy, you will have to master the skills. It becomes even more interesting when you get the webs.
This game is quite unique. I'm now 30 years old and it reminds me the first time I played A Link to the Past on the SNES at my babysitter's house. Not in the game play, or anything like that. I felt the same way I felt when I found my first secret room and heared "ti dou dou dou din DIN" as a child. Full of mystery, amazement and surprises. In the same train of thought, I felt absolutely challenged by this game. It dips into old school "trust yourself to find stuff" and no hand holding. You play as Joshua, a spider that moves. The mechanics (controller required*) are absolutely insane and ...interesting to learn. Protip : TRUST YOURSELF TO FIND STUFF! GG I'm having fun and I yell a lot. I'll try to get that 100%
Great game! Very nice controls
ENG: Good little game, a challenging and original control like "Getting over it" but with a more metroidvania style exploration map, there are several upgrades for the legs that give us new mechanics to explore more. It's quite entertaining and satisfying when you get the moves right. I recorded some gameplay from the beginning so you can appreciate the controls. It requires a controller, since you have to use the sticks to move the legs. https://youtu.be/oG5Yq_MvLm4
cool artstyle and music, but it seems like you have to play with a gamepad, keyboard just isn't working so well. no remappable keybindings too (not that it would help much, to be fair) anyway, there should be some kind of disclaimer on top of the store page about this game requiring a gamepad
If you’re willing to accept the early game challenge of understanding its core mechanic, you’ll find that the game will reward you with a simple but oh so satisfying gameplay. Just moving around aimlessly is fun enough, but completing some of its challenges is very reminiscent of that feeling you get when beating a boss in Dark Soul. The atmosphere is fairly basic, but charming enough in its own way, that you’ll want to explore everything this game has to offer(if you’re able to complete some of its soul crushing challenges, that is).
Cool game, I was glad to play it and I will be glad to play it again
