I picked up Jolly Rover 14 years ago in 2010 in the Indie Story Pack - mostly just because for 5$ I could get Recettear, as well as Jolly Rover and a handful of other titles with it. I probably played it briefly before turning it off to play something I was more interested in at the time. I couldn't tell you why I picked it back up again all this time later but I'm certainly glad I did. Jolly Rover is full of wit, amusing characters, excellent writing and voice acting, voodoo, juggling, and features a pretty straightforward assortment of point and click puzzles. It only took me a few hours to clear it, but I had a smile on my face for practically the entire experience. If you're feeling a bit nostalgic or would like a charming, humorous point and click adventure game to kill a few hours, I definitely recommend Jolly Rover.
I at first was hesitant to purchase this game cause according to Steam it has no voice acting and my voice acting is nonexistent thankfully it does have voice acting I am enjoying this game so far. Definitely reminds me of Monkey Island cause of the humor and the pirate theme also there are pieces of eight to find not sure if this was a real currency during this time period or just a Monkey Island inside joke. I will definitely be doing a full play-through in the future

Oh hey, Monkey Island with dogs! Neat. Oh ♥♥♥♥, the writing is so cringe I couldn't bear to play more than 20 minutes. Shame.
Манки айленд по-австралийски. Без кенгуру, но с собаками (нет, не динго).
Cute and Fun adventure game. I have a terrible memory so the option to let the parrot do the knocking for me was a life saver. The in game hint system is really well done and gives you just enough to nudge you in the right direction. Which is good because sometimes the puzzles are less than logical. It is short so I would suggest getting it on sale. The VA is really good as well.

A great classic point and click. If you like the Monkey Island series you'll like this, it draws heavy influence in its puzzle solving and comedic tone.
Sometimes you play something you realise was made by someone talented, but the game itself is wobbly. This is such a case: it's a decent point and click adventure game, more good than bad; the hint system helps the sporadic spotty puzzle. The biggest problem Jolly Rover has is the debt it owes Monkey Island; even as it tries to step out of its shadow, you can tell it's enamoured of it. While it's hardly essential, I played it all the way through.
wish it wasn't so short
