Enjoyable game, nice music and art. Gamepad is recommended but I played with keyboard and the controls felt good.
I helped beta test Jetscout and was very impressed. Super slick movement and tight controls make this a game perfect for speedrunning, but the easy difficulty mode keeps it accessible for more casual players.
I can vaguely remember playing a game much like this one a looooooong time ago, but Jetscout takes it to the next level. Awesome range of levels, monsters, challenges, and innovative mechanics. Not quite finished yet and thoroughly enjoying it. Took me two days to get past the third mission but then I was hooked! Original take on the genre featuring dynamic environments, monsters, and innovative use of the jetpack. Real nail-biter. Superb. A fantastic game that any fan of precision platforming should check out. The controls are tight, intuitive and feel great to get better at. As you go from world to world, it is very easy to get invested in the atmosphere, with every new world bringing a new environment and a new track, ranging from the beautifully atmospheric noctune, to the ominous gloopeon, to the thrilling auro. I had a blast going through the game, so much so that I went around doing all the speedrun and perfect achievements for every stage as well, using the new spacesuits I unlocked by having completed every level. All in all, the game is a fun experience for both casual and more hardcore players - and basically a steal at the price it goes for on steam.

Jetscout is a simple but surprisingly fun game. The reason the game works is entirely due to the great controls. But be aware that the game is as the price suggest kinda short but therefore it doesn't outlive its welcome. The only real negative is that the game is a bit unpolished in the technical department, with no windowed mode and some audio sources not being tied to the in game audio sliders(tho that is easily bypassed with your ps's audio sliders/control). If you are interested in the game i suggest trying the free demo/prequel boot camp, it will tell you exactly what the gamer is about. If you like the demo you are going to like the game and vise versa.
Game has really smooth and tight controls. The multiple difficulties and challenge coins really add replay value to the game. Overall, you can tell the dev took a lot of time to polish every aspect. One of my favorites of this genre!
I got this gifted to me over speedrun.com thanks to my background in games like shovel knight n stuff, and while I dont quite see how the games are much related, it was pleasurable enough for me to play all the way through, which is more than I can say for other games that ive been given through this fashion. I will say the game did not give me good first impressions, but as I kept playing i found the artwork and the music to be rather nice and even high quality for a single dev game. I encountered only 1 or 2 minor bugs throughout my playthrough and the hitboxes and everything are quite well placed. Controls are very weird at first but after a bit i found them to be nice and tight. My only real complaints would be is that the game is pretty damn linear especially considering its clear metroid-style universe, with only a few collectibles and suits to go after when you finish the game, which is why I feel that 10 bucks might be a tad too much for a game that at first reminded me of flash games I used to play when I was very young. But if it really interests you or if it goes on sale I would say its worth a play, being that its not very long. I suppose I should also mention that the speedrun achievements are perhaps a tad too generous, but maybe I'm just that good B) . Overall, cute.
