Jerry and the mystery loot box is one of the worst point and click adventure games I've ever played.
Story:
You play as Jerry who is a private detective. You're down on your luck without any cases, but you quickly take on a case where a couple of kids who have been playing a certain game have gone missing, with the only link in the case being a mysterious loot box each kid received before going missing.
The story is just as crazy and nonsensical as I described it and it's absolutely atrocious. The plot is completely incomprehensible, because of a few key reasons. The big one of course being is that the English grammar is impossible to understand. There's a lot of grammatical mistakes and other problems which make the plot pretty hard to follow.
Graphics:
The art style of the game is just eh. It has a pretty cool idea where characters look like they are stuck onto sticks and it looks like a puppet show, but overall the quality feels on par of a flash game.
A lot of the environments are also pretty bland and empty. At one point you explore a factory and it's filled with the same type of boxes over and over again, with nothing else.
Audio:
There's literally no audio apart from a song that ends in 15 seconds and the dev didn't have the decency to loop it. Once it runs out the game is quiet until you restart the game and yeah the song sucks, so I'd rather just sit there in silence.
Gameplay:
The point and click genre is the most simple in it's design, you point and then you click, you collect items, talk to people and solve puzzles, yet somehow Jerry and the mystery loot box manages to completely mess that up. First thing I have to tell you is that the game is a horrible and buggy mess.
When you point and click too much, it sometimes will take away your control and force you to quit out of the game and get control back, otherwise you just sit there unable to move or click on anything. Also sometimes when you need to interact with an item, it doesn't register so you're sitting there mashing mouse 1 until something happens.
If lady luck smiles in your favor and the game manages to work for you, the puzzles are way too easy and I couldn't even call them puzzles. There's usually two items per screen and you pick something up and then use it on the other thing.
Also a funny little thing, the game has a choice at the end leading to two different endings, but both of the endings are literally the same, with a few words being different.
Verdict:
Jerry and the mystery loot box is absolutely one of the worst games I have ever played in my entire life. It's barely functional and when it does work, you can breeze through it in 15 minutes. It's nonsensical, unfun and just completely awful. Stay away.
