About
New York City. July 2063. Four workers have gone missing somewhere in the Brooklyn Understructure, a maze of sewage pipes and abandoned passageways deep below the city streets. Genevieve Marconi, a mercenary with a taste for high-risk jobs, is hired to uncover their whereabouts.
As Genevieve, you'll have to fight your way through a horde of drones. Shoot them with energy blasts or smash them to pieces with your broom. Use volleys of missiles and powerful super moves to turn the tide of battle.
This is a spectacle fighter / shooter hybrid. There's third-person shooting and a fast-paced melee system, plus some extra metered abilities that you can use for big momentum swings in fights. Jenny's got a fairly complex combat toolset, and we hope you'll enjoy learning to master it.
Use Jenny's broom to navigate the treacherous chambers of the Understructure. The game has platforming. It's not too intense, but we wanted to put some in to show off the improvements we've made to our character movement (and also, who doesn't like airdashing over bottomless pits?)
Earn a high score by smashing drones with grace and swiftness. You can spend cash earned during your mission on upgrades and new abilities. Honestly, what else do you want to know? We've put a score system in all our games and this one's no exception. Do long combos to raise your score. Spend your score on new abilities (like special melee attacks, super moves, etc) so you can do sicker combos. You'll also be able to replay the game with your unlocks intact after beating it once.
This game isn't expensive. It's a few hours long, and it's got significant replayability via its difficulty options, scoring system, etc. This is a short game. Please buy this if you like short games.

I'm beginning to play this game but this game reminds me a lot of PS2 era 3D platformers that tried to be edgy and cool by adding shooting combat (IN A GOOD WAY I MEAN). Specifically it reminds me of Starwars Bounty Hunter.

very cool... i wish brooklyn was real...
Game's got style in spades and the battle system is really nice once you get into the flow of it. Highly recommended :3
After a very short first play i liked what i had experienced so far! Cant wait to see and experience some more
cool game
too much annoying platforming with very slippery character and not enough combat music
it's like if the team that made gunstar heroes was publishing one for the gamecube after playing touhou and reading warhound. a clean hour and a half or so of beating the bolts out of a generous variety of robot guys set in the same universe as catbird's other game, steel carnelian. absolutely recommend picking this up for the $7 and giving it a few runs postgame support to increase replayability is planned but was not implemented at the time of review
Neat little action game with a cool aesthetic and enjoyable combat broken up by some light platforming and the occasional story beat. The melee attacks and dashes have some hefty recovery times, and your ranged weapon does low damage and slows you a lot, but you're in a durable mech, so you're free to tank some damage. The game incentivizes you to focus less on dodging everything, and more on managing resources. You've got a missile volley to recover shields, ultra moves that can recover health, regenerating shields if you can avoid damage for several seconds. Even the enemy health bars are tactically useful, since you can soften up an enemy with a ranged attack and know when they're going to be weak enough to finish off with a melee combo (handy, since your combo is great at stunlocking small enemies, but has horrific recovery, making it dangerous if you fail to finish them off). It reminds me of PS2-era games [affectionate], where the combat could be a bit clunky, but the clunk would force more strategic play. The game is set in an underground megastructure, and while it's a lot of concrete brutalism, some of the environments are striking in their scale, and work well with the chunky visuals. Although the game is short (2~3 hours) and doesn't include a ton of narrative, what's there is compelling. It's got a bit of an 00's-era hacker-cringe vibe that feels pretty lighthearted at first, but ratchets up a lot over the short runtime. It's a very stylish game.
