Its Simple, SHOOT is a 2D retro/minimalist top down wave survival arena shooter. You're a little square and you have to shoot waves of circles and triangles and things with a variety of weapons and abilities to help you along the way. Thanks to basic Unity settings there's 4K support, but not much in the way of graphical tweaks to improve the lacklustre and phoned in visuals of the game, which are the real deal breaker here. Gameplay itself is surprisingly smooth and well balanced, they seem to have nailed that very important aspect of any video game. There's also some welcome depth in the gameplay due to the various weapons and abilities. Unfortunately the phoned in, lazy "art" being used instead of contemporary visuals kills this one. The game is completely free. Nothing speaks more to a developers belief in themselves and their product than making their game available for everyone without remuneration. This is certainly a gesture that shows dedication to the gaming industry. It's a shame in this case that the implementation is below the minimum standards a dedicated PC game should offer to enthusiasts. There's no "maybe" option in Steam, unfortunately, but I hope to see more work from this developer, perhaps as part of a professional game development company that can make full use of their talents without needing to make budget/quality compromises like minimalist "art".
