i think the message is good. it certainly proves its point. while clunky, and some aspects of the story aren't as good or well thought out as they could be, i did enjoy it. the truth is, there are many, many more ishmaels in palestine right now. and many, many more of them are, unfortunately slated to die by the hands of the idf. i highly recommend yousef bashir's book "the words of my father", as he is an amazing storyteller and and the narrative is captivating and informative.

I think it's a noble try at dissecting a complex topic through the eyes of a child suffering through it, but the short runtime exposes author bias pretty heavily, and it's bad to look biased when the writing is poor and there's so little of it. Arguably propaganda.
