A really cute little game based on placement puzzles. Each level is the same thing - put the shapes on their appropriate seats, based on their preferences (or lack thereof). The variety comes from the "locations" for each section: a wedding venue, movie theatre, diner, a boat, etc. All varying in shape, size, and number of seats. And with each new location, the seating preferences change in funny ways (ex. some shapes wear big hats that block the view of the movie screen, or listen to music that's too loud on the bus, or want to take photos of the view from the boat). It's super creative how the team works around this restriction of having a single puzzle mechanic to not have the game become boring. There's also an overarching story that's fun to follow, and the sound design complements the whole thing, making for a really cozy pasttime. [i] Is This Seat Taken? [/i] reminds me of the good ol' puzzle games from Gamehouse and PopCap (like Delicious or Bookworm Deluxe). The puzzles themselves are the focus, and everything else is just a cherry on top. Is This Seat Taken? is a cute 2D puzzle game where you have to place different characters in different areas according to their wishes while avoiding their aversions: some don’t like to be seated near children, others next to smelly people and so on… each chapter adds a new requests you need to listen to and fulfill to get a perfect score. There is also a story about a differently shaped main character that will travel around Europe to find its purpose. The graphics are colorful but follow a simple two color palette and a cartoonish art style, and everything really works well together and the game does have its own unique style. The music and sound effects are relaxing and provide a calm atmosphere where you can think undisturbed. The gameplay, as mentioned, gets more complex with each chapter but in most of the levels there are several different combinations that work and not a single, unique solution for the levels. This makes the game very accessible and everyone can play and complete it even without a guide or hints. The achievements are also easy and most are obtained by getting a perfect score in all the levels and completing the extra level in each chapter, and to get the rest of them you just need to interact with a few random objects and characters, so remember to click on everything. Is this seat taken is a fun game that gets your brain working and that has a cosy feel to it, after playing every level and getting all the achievements I went back and played it again. would really recommend it if your looking for a game you can play at your own pace and stays interesting as the levels have different locations that bring new characters as well as fun challenges.

Its a very cool and simple game that is stylistically great, but it can feel a bit repetitive after a while. Its a cool core mechanic and its fun to see a story line woven into it

The art style for this game is so cute! The puzzle difficulty scaling is perfect and it's nice to get rewarded with further story progression! Short and sweet but easily a classic when it comes to puzzle games. Thanks for such a lovely experience!

Un casse tête bien avec des beaux personnages et des caractéristiques originaux permettant ainsi de bien complexer le puzzle. Les emplacements ont des conséquences tels que le pop corns qui rajoute de la personnification à l'oeuvre.
