About

Take a look behind Irony Curtain in this satirical point-and-click inspired by the best works of LucasArts and Daedalic Entertainment! Experience the totalitarian Matryoshka through the eyes of Evan – a low-ranking, goofy journalist involuntarily pulled right into the middle of an espionage stand-off between two powers. Jump into the wacky spy adventure, uncover secrets of the bizarre communist country (and the powerful capitalist empire!), witness a story full of unpredictable twists and turns, and discover the true agenda of the mysterious Supreme Leader!
What business might the loving father of the Matryoshkan nation have with a lowly, capitalistic pen-pusher?
Why suddenly lift the Irony Curtain and welcome a stranger into Matryoshka?
And why is there an alligator in the middle of the bathroom?!

An original setting: fictional Cold War era – alternate reality unbound by historical accuracy, and the communistic Matryoshka full of people who work all the possible angles to navigate this illogical, odd country.
Inspired by classic adventure games – but better. No dream-logic, no pixel hunting. No-nonsense. Pure point and click fun.
The Spy Intrigue – sleeper spies, stolen secrets and world-domination plots wrapped up in layers of humor.
Quirky characters – Meet the mysterious Leader ruling Matryoshka with an irony fist, the clueless and guilible Evan, the brave and witty Agent Anna and the notorious Minister of Propaganda...
Do it your way – some of the puzzles are non-linear and can be solved in two or more different ways.
21 hand-painted locations – that look surprisingly better than their original inspirations.
1,951 cleverly sneaked-in easter eggs – some of them punishable by political imprisonment.
Music score as grand as Matryoshka itself - music by the state composer Arkadiusz Reikowski (Layers of Fear, My Brother Rabbit) with Main Theme by Peter McConnell (Monkey Island, Grim Fandango)
Full voice-over – in English, and subtitles in Polish and German.
A 5-year plan – that no one ever hoped to achieve, and neither should you.

It's been a very long time since I played this game but I'm still mad about it. The whole game is just propaganda in the stupidest way. Forgive me for not remembering many details, I'm just gonna talk about what stuck with me the most. Everything bad that happens is because of communism (but not really, there is no communism). "Because communism bad!" is an argument (I think the ONLY argument) that gets repeated over and over, I'm not kidding.. It's supposed to be funny but it's just not, because it's not satire of people like this, they mean it sincerely. So what's the joke? How ironic is it that they put irony in the title when there is none to be found. At some point you go around and talk to a bunch of people that are hungry and have all kinds of problems, "Why? Because communism!" Every single one of them, no further discussion about what is going on. (I can't believe I still remember these lines, it's been etched in my brain or something.) I wish you could tell them no it's because you have a tyrant leader with golden statues of himself, taking all your food and supplies for himself. This is the opposite of communism, he is taking from the poor and giving it to the rich. Unfortunately the main character is a spineless moron, much like many people in the real world who keep falling for propaganda just like this stupid game. If the orange man started doing this tomorrow in the US, you wouldn't call it communism. Autocracy can happen under any system. Just wanted to put this out there.
The game manages to show you the revolting living conditions of the people living under communism and dictatorship while still keeping a humorous tone, and I applaud them for that. The help option is also cleverly integrated into the story, and easter eggs have been planted here and there. It's been a while I hadn't played a point & click game, and I'm glad I did.
This game me realize that games have 'aura', a distinctive atmosphere, and I didn't like Irony Curtain's aura which was satire of an ideology. It is also obsessed with buttocks, which isn't funny to me. So my reaction to the game was distress and offense which made me not want to play it, and I didn't finish it. And I am really happy that is was only $3.99.
Wer Point and Clicks mag, kommt hier in dem Spiel auf jeden Fall auch auf seine KOSTEN ! Kleine Rätsel die man schnell gelöst bekommt. WAS ICH HERVORHEBEN MUSS ... Kleine Minispiele . Errungenschaften waren easy zubekommen .
Bug am Ende, sonst spitze
Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love truly shines by fixing what often plagues point-and-click adventures: baffling, illogical puzzles. Almost every challenge in this game feels intuitive, and impressively, many even offer multiple solutions. Coupled with charming visuals, laugh-out-loud dialogue, and a thematic setting that hits close to home, it's clear there's a lot to love. So, why the negative review? Unfortunately, the game's use of profane language ultimately forced me to stop playing. I simply couldn't tolerate it. There was no indication of strong language or an age rating on the Steam store page, which is a significant oversight. Had I known, I would have opted out of buying it.

Excellent point and click. Deserves more eyes on it.
Setting is great, good art, some audio levels a bit uneven. Puzzles are ok, but a lot of fetch quests that are linked in a straight line. Main character is annoying, grows on you like cancer. Humor is hit and miss, with more miss.
Nice Artwork, nice story and quite solvable!
