About

The world is dead. The state has collapsed. In a forgotten Eastern Bloc town, you are alone but not truly alone. Something stirs beyond the walls, and none of it means you well. You have only one reason to keep going: survive long enough to find your wife, Valeria. But in the cold and darkness of this unforgiving night, will you ever make it back to her?

In the hellish streets of this Eastern Bloc town, every bullet matters. There are ways to fight back, but survival demands more than firepower. Use the weapons at your disposal to clear a path, scavenge tools to overcome the obstacles ahead, and avoid unnecessary confrontations whenever you can.

Iron Blight aims to deliver an immersive gameplay experience built around atmosphere, vulnerability, and the crushing weight of isolation. Every bullet matters, and the sound of gunfire may draw even more horrors to your position. Even something as simple as opening a locked door demands thought. You must manage your food and medical supplies, move cautiously through the streets, and always consider what might be waiting around the next corner.
True Survival Horror Gameplay: Navigate desolate streets and claustrophobic interiors, where danger lurks around every corner. Solve puzzles and face the terrors that will force a choice: fight, flee, or die.
Resource Scarcity and Tension: Resources are scarce. Do you risk using your last bullet to take down a monster, or do you save it for a more critical moment and hope to slip past unnoticed?
Diegetic Grid-Based Inventory: Every single item matters, and space is a luxury you can't afford. Carefully manage your limited inventory grid, making agonizing choices about what to carry and what to leave behind.
No HUD, No Distractions: No health bars, no ammo counters, no intrusive menus. Every piece of information is conveyed through your character and the world around you. Your only interface is your own perception.
A Unique Weapon System: Check your magazines manually, round by precious round, and reload with deliberate, step-by-step actions. Every firefight becomes a tense test of your nerves and skill.
A Bleak and Oppressive Atmosphere: Rain-slick cobblestones and flickering fluorescent lights lead you deeper into a town that feels cold, hostile, and suffocating. The distant cries of things that should not exist echo through its desolate streets.
A Return to Forgotten Horror Traditions: Fear comes from the atmosphere, the gnawing uncertainty, and the constant presence of death. The story is told through the environment itself, and combat is a slow, methodical dance where every shot matters.

Reviews
Short, but sweet. Enemy variety is fully utilized to make encounters interesting. Weapons are fun and punchy. Environmental work, especially in the city area, does an excellent job of immersing the player in the world.
GOOD
8/10 I must say im the target audience for this game, checks all the boxes of what i like in a shooter survival horror! the jankiness adds to the experience from the gun play to the ai. now if u want a more personal review; okay so, there's a lot of jank in this game. but its the kind that makes u amazed. somewhat id say, i saw a few gameplays before deciding i definitely wanted to play this. once i got to play it is when the uh cracks started showing. the questionable ai pathfinding that sometimes just GIVES up infront of you or those zombies getting stuck behing a car when u enter the village right after the tree falls. or the many inf ammo bugs(which i dont mind, gotta get that hardcore achievement somehow) i kinda felt let down as i was expecting something that could rival my experience with a few of the resident evil titles i've played. but looking past all that the gameplay certainly makes up for it, the game purposely awards you for your curiosity, check the rooms where the zombies just broke out of? shotgun ammo or... more ammo! or how certain guns are practically hidden from you(ill get that mp5 swear) every second i spent looking at every corner was fun, for me at least. another thing to note is the "great" gunplay, genuinely love how the semi/auto guns can jam, whether its on a harmless moment or JUST when you're about to magdump a zombie that came right into your face, it really makes you wonder what guns you want to use. since the first shotgun you get although it only holds 2 rounds doesn't need to be pumped. instead of its humble superior that you find later on the story that has way more ammo capacity but needs to be pumped after each shot.. which im guilty of getting hit because im spamming m1 and it doesnt work lol... its really fascinating because even if at face value it looks like a better option technically the first shotgun is more reliable and if u know the timing it can be reloaded in less than 2 seconds... enough glaze tho the assault rifle u get at like the end is just a better rifle because of that one mod that u get after like 20 mins i think so not every gun has the same treatment. still there's a lot to play around with the guns and its jank though u probably will end up only using the shotgun until the very very last part because is that goated. although if you really look into it the whole game is just a fetch quest but it uses that really well to explore all the places around and backtrack to open things with tools you once didn't have so it rewards that as well. the story is.. um acceptable i suppose, drives the plot forward so you have an idea what's happening. im pretty sure u can uh piece more stuff together if u read the notes but I'll be for real i was just here for the gun play and survival horror elements. if i could give whoever read this a tip is that maybe just maybe you want to play on hard difficulty on your first playthrough, seriously the game trivialized itself when i had 18 magnum bullets. they just kept handing it to me and i thought "oh maybe there will be a boss fight" but genuinely the rifle seems to have the same stopping power as the magnum on most enemies except the headless zombie and those two fat zombies at the aparment section. only real use sob, an angel lost its wings when i had to drop so much of that ammo in favor of the assault rifle ammo. how do you make the assault rifle so much better than the magnum? its beyond me, it only serves the purpose to kill TWO enemies since they seem to tank at least 6-8 magnum bullets.... or how they give u a perhaps exagerated ammount of ammo sometimes. i've heard some people got softlocked because they had no ammo but genuinely, unless ur on hardcore this should NOT be happening. to wrap it up, if you liked resident evil and wanted to try something similar give it a try.. although i woulnd't say this game cost 14 euros for the content that there is right now and the jank and bugs, im hopeful the devs will fix and add more stuff to make it truly worth it.

Awesome game! Love the gameplay and combat, puzzles were quite fun to figure out too. I especially enjoy the fact that there were quite a few different tools for different areas so you can go back and unlock stuff after finding the right tool later. My only gripes were that, despite not experiencing any of the bugs people have mentioned, my game did crash 3-4 times randomly in Act 2 which lost me a little progress. Also I wish it were longer, I ended up finishing the game with a ton of ammo and never having used the
MP5
which I just grabbed at the end. Regardless, I would absolutely still recommend this game to anyone with a few hours to spare. Spoilers Below:
The ending sequence fighting the militia wasn't as cool as I was hoping it would be. I would have loved a big boss fight with a big monster zombie or a big hoard towards the end to really make it feel like you were fighting to get back to your wife. However, despite it being a short/indie game, I was always reminded that the player character is trying to get back to their wife, backing the ending actually quite emotional which (even though sad) I really enjoyed.

an inspect would be nice for weapons
Very short but extremely fun! The gunplay is really satisfying and the sound design is top notch. My only real criticism is the complete lack of a stealth system. There were times where it would have felt very satisfying to navigate my way around without combat (or only using a melee weapon to stay quiet), particularly in instances when I was low on resources. You have a crouch but it never seemed to do anything. Other than that, if you buy the game you will have a very fun time. Thanks for the fun time!
