No puedo recomendarlo, lamentablemente.
Deadly Rain is such a low-effort and poorly-tested shooter, a physically draining experience to sit through, that the final nail in the coffin came when a bolt-action rifle was acquired around round seven. One would expect this to be a powerful yet slow-firing weapon, that requires careful aiming to bring down a heavy zombie. The gun can be fired like a semi-automatic rifle, the reloading animation completely glitching as five bullets are fired in 2 seconds. Such a ridiculous oversight is emblematic of the whole of Deadly Rain, a nauseatingly claustrophobic and repetitive zombie game that no one should experience. It is very likely that this exists as nothing more than a cheap cash grab from unassuming customers who confuse this for a fun and functioning CoD Zombies homage.
A homage to COD: Zombies & RE ruined by bugs and problems...
I'd really like to recommend the game, it's great, well made and a lot of fun (up to a point), I even know the game's dev, super nice guy. But there are so many problems, bugs and unfinished things that makes me not recommend it. Considering that the game bought assets to make the game and costs this much is the biggest problem of all. Even a game that I know and have been developed for 6 years doesn't cost that much, in fact it's barely half that. With that in mind, I'll take into account that I'm analyzing a game that costs $19.
This review was submitted for Arcane Burajiru™ Analise em Português aqui
Story The year is 1954. The totalitarian Soviet regime begins a project where they develop a hallucinogenic gas capable of distorting reality and spreading fear and panic to those who go against the state. After years, the project was created and antidotes were distributed only to those who adhered to the regime. To spread the gas, nuclear power plants were spread across the country, creating toxic, hallucinogenic rain. You are Viktor Klaus, fighting against the state. You're trapped in an ancient village, infested with monsters, and your only option is to survive. The story is a bit irrelevant to the game, but it's good that the game has one, at least to give you some background and to find out a bit more about what's going on there. Gameplay Deadly Rain is a mix of COD: Zombies and Resident Evil 7. You must survive waves while searching boxes for ammunition and healing syringes, as well as keys to unlock new areas where you can find new weapons. What I liked the most about the game was the animations in general, when you run, shoot, use a weapon like a knife or even a gun, everything was very well done. The problem is that you can't reload while you're running, so if you reload your gun while there are enemies around, you'll be screwed, as they move faster than you, at least after a few waves. Even when reusing assets, nothing looks strange or doesn't fit in the game, as does the design of the map as a whole, which is very well done, but sometimes quite confusing. You get lost easily, especially when you're running from enemies in search of ammunition or healing, there's no visual to show that you're going to this or that place. You always have to leave an enemy alive to have time to look for items and unlock new locations. I really liked that you can also use the keys to unlock locked doors that contain weapons and boxes inside, but I don't think it's worth it since it takes a while for the key to appear and it doesn't have as many features compared to unlocking a new area, but it was a good idea if you just want to stay in that area in question. What's really bad here would be how the game handles it when you go to another area while there are still enemies in the one you were in, the game simply spawns completely different enemies from what was left in the other area, something very amateurish for a $19 game. I remember reporting a problem where when you fell from a very low height, you took a huge amount of damage, and this has not been fixed so far. After playing the game for more than 3 times, I realized that when you play a lot until you reach wave 10-11, the game uses 100 CPU for some reason, but just for a few minutes. This unfortunately looks like the game is using your PC for mining. This very reason made me stop playing and put off getting the game achievements until later, as it gets boring very quickly. At launch the game was dull, with slow enemies that didn't show much danger. But now all the enemies run and different monsters appear more quickly. It's good, but it's very poorly balanced, and what ruins everything are the bugs. Enemies hit you even after they die, making melee weapons useless. Enemies are born in your blind spots, so if you don't see them, they can be born there. This sucks because it doesn't give you a chance to create a strategy. They can be born almost right next to you or even in places you can't get to, depending on the location. Graphics The game has some good graphics, they're not the prettiest thing in the world, but they make the game nice to play. Even with low graphics, the game is pleasing to the eye. It's a bit dark, but the thunder helps light it up, the rain is also very well done, the drips on the screen make the game a bit more realistic. Explosions are good, but lack impact, maybe the screen shaking or something, the color is also a bit strange and dull. Good lighting, but I think they should have used it better to highlight places where you can enter. The enemies are the worst thing in the game, strange and dull, and for some 'reason' they don't seem to fit in with the rest of the game. The bloody effect when you shoot them is also very dull and unrealistic. Audio This had one of the worst sound effects when it released, but now that they've adjusted it, it's much more enjoyable. It has a very pleasant soundtrack, very much in the style of COD, which went beautifully with the game. Sound effects such as weapons, when you pass through the terrain and so on are great, with a good variation from one to another, making the game much more enjoyable to play. Verdict It's a great game, very well made, it has bugs and things that should be improved, but man... It's nowhere near worth $19. Something you have to understand is that if you buy assets to use in your game, you're doing it to speed up development and focus on other more important areas, rather than wasting time doing this or that. As I said, a game that has been in development for 6 years costs just a few dollars more, and those who worked on it made the models and animation from scratch. If this game had been in development for that long, I could understand the price, but it doesn't seem to have been. Unfortunately, it's not just by making a good game that people will buy your game. You don't have a big portfolio, nobody knows you, how can anyone risk paying all that for a game where they don't know if you're going to fix bugs, improve the game and continue to support the game? When the game costs so much, people will obviously think you're looking to make a quick buck. Now, I can't say exactly what a fair price is (at least in dollar), but something cheaper than what it is would be much better. A high price like that only scares people away. It gets boring fast, there's not much to do except run around unlocking areas and looking for items, definitely not worth $19. Honestly, the game was a lot more better when it first came out... Score: 4.8/10 Strong Points: + Good animations. + Great graphics. + Good soundtrack and sound effects. Weak Points: - Gets repetitive and dull quickly. - Can't load while running. - Several 'old' bugs that are still in the game. - Game uses 100% of your CPU out of nowhere. - There is no definitive spawn for monsters. - Enemies hit you even after you're dead. - Many weapons with reduced FOV. - Very expensive game for what it offers. You can take a peek at the game if you wish: https://youtu.be/QKqQ9wqnVMU Note: I received a key from the developer for the purposes of reviewing, helping to publicize and give feedback. This has not affected my opinion of the game in any way. As with all reviews, this review is my opinion on what I thought of the game. If you found my analysis of the game interesting, I strongly recommend that you buy the game and play it to see for yourself whether it's worth it or not.
Resenha feita para a curadoria Guardians English review here
Talvez R$20?
I am a fan of wave-based arena shooters, and this game delivered exactly what I wanted. The background lore, the ambience, the immersion and the overall atmosphere are well thought and well realized, the enemies are threatening, the weapons are numerous and feel powerful, and the map is pretty big and fully explorable, even the buildings can be accessed and used as cover, which is not trivial at all. The game is undoubtedly well made and very fun, I think I'll keep playing it for a while, so my review is positive for sure. But... I'm sorry, but for honesty sake I have to say this: the price is WAAAAAAAY exaggerated. All the assets in this game are pre-made and purchased, I have seen them countless times in Unity games, so asking 20 euros for a game where nothing has been made from scratch is simply insane. I precise that this is NOT an asset-flip, all the assets are used very well, meaning that each of them has been cleverly inserted in the game's world, not randomly as we often see in asset-flips. And the game, as I said, is overall very well made and very fun, that's why I would have gladly spent up to 5 euros for it. But, let's be honest, 20 euros is too much for an arena shooter with no story and no original assets. If you are a fan of this genre it may be worth it (personally I don't regret the purchase), but be aware that you may get much less than you expected. This is my opinion of course, now the decision is yours. But, price aside, congratulations to the devs for the good work, I have rarely had such fun with a wave-based shooter before. Cheers guys!
This game seems pretty cool and I like the idea, however the headbob and how blurry it gets does make me feel sick and I can't play past round 4. If they fix that somehow then I can see myself enjoying this game a lot. It's cool to just open it and kill some time or if you are a streamer, it's a good game you can play and focus on chat a bit.
Imbarazzante avere nello store di steam cibo per anatre Selling a piece of crap like that is a legal robbery for just 1 euro. For 20 euros, it takes life. Embarrassing to have in the store steam duck food
