Sid Meier's Starships

The gameplay is fine, but I cannot recommend this title simply because Firaxis/2k borked the My2K connectivity and all interplay for Beyond Earth and Starships, and after several support tickets it is abundantly clear they have zero intentions of bothering to patch the game to fix it, even when they have done that for their other titles. Really poor customer disservice.

Some interesting mechanics, but overall rather simple and forgettable. Just kinda mid. A 4x game where most reviews have less than 20 hours played. Not a good sign.

My new EULA and ToS towards 2K: Due to recent changes in the 2K EULA and ToS, all 2K games in all of my game libraries, across all my game service platforms, have been uninstalled and are henceforth banned from EVER being played. EVER. All future purchases of any 2K games are also prohibited into perpetuity.

Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earthと世界観を同じとするターン制ストラテジー。 こちらはタイトルの通り「Civilization」ではないのでcivを求めている方は注意。civ系と共通する部分も多少ありますが別のゲームと思った方がいいです。 舞台が宇宙空間なので艦隊がメインとなりcivBEのように陸上で行動することはないです。 主にやることは各惑星の影響力を稼いで支配を広げていくのですが、他のストラテジーと少し違うのは動かせるユニットは1つだけという部分です。これは各ターンに1つという意味ではなく、そもそも各勢力ユニットが1つで固定です。艦船を増やしても戦略マップでは1つの艦隊です。行動するたびに疲労度が減る仕様で、この1つの艦隊をターン内に何度も動かす形となります。 ルール的には非常に単純なので、ゲーム内のヘルプに相当するスペースペディアをザっと読むだけですぐ理解できると思います。 一応civっぽい部分として勝利条件が支配、科学、人口、遺産などあるので戦争はしなくても勝利可能。 ただし惑星を支配下に置く（影響力を稼ぐ）のに必ずミッションをする必要があるので、中立が多い序盤のうちは戦闘がほぼ毎回確実に発生します。戦略マップ上でオートの結果だけみる簡易戦闘みたいなものはありません。別マップで手動操作により行われるので、これが面倒と感じる人だとこのゲームはおすすめできません。 しかも戦闘は移動、演出のカットどころか倍速すらないので攻撃のたびにノロノロしたミサイルを眺めることになります。 そしてこれが一番重要なことなのですが、このゲームはCivBEと連動要素があります。 BEで達成するとSSの、SSで達成するとBEの各種アンロックがあるのですが、現在はCivBE側でmy2Kにサインインできなくなってしまったので[u] 正攻法では [/u]解除できません。Starships側ではサインイン可能ですが、双方でアカウント連携しないとアンロックされないので事実上機能していないです。 アンロックできない要素があることでモヤる人は注意です。 あとは実績コンプを気にする方も「CivBEのセーブを使ってStarshipsを開始する」実績があるので現状では（おそらく今後も）解除できない可能性が高いので注意。 [h3] 総評 [/h3] ぶっちゃけ内容は薄っぺらい感じですが、あまり考えずに気軽に遊べるという点で評価したい。 期待値下げてから遊ぶと意外と楽しめますが、セール以外で買うのは避けた方がいいです。

You won't get hours and years of replay out of this, but it's a fun light strategy capital ship fighter with a Risk like, space map. I pick it up now and then and it scratches the itch Starbattle left in my heart 15 years ago. If it was on sale for cheap, I'd suggest picking it up.

interesting game, if it was completed. how do you sell vessels? I bought ships. ran out of money. and couldn't continue because I could earn any resources of whatever stupid type.

I am not upset with the game. I posted no because I know I would not say you should play this. This game is over 12 years old and although it came out the same year as CIV beyond earth, it lacks replay. It feels like the devs tried exploring a different play style but figured out quickly they were not excited about the way this game was turning out. plays like stellaris yet lacks content. I would not spend alot of money on this, but it is better than some games I tried.

Will not run on run on one of my computers

Need better controls switching between planets but I like the strategy on impossible mode
