About

While Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo D.C., she knows it's time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.
Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There's no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning.
Shelly's crusade to take down Heskel's army will see her leave destruction in her wake with a wide arsenal of weapons, complete with alternate fire modes and different ammo types. Her signature revolver, the tri-barreled Loverboy, brings enemies pain and players pleasure with both single shots and Old West-style hammer fanning action. Who needs a regular shotgun when you can load buckshot into your grenade launcher? Violent, over-the-top Bowling Bombs rip enemies apart with ease.
Ion Fury laughs at the idea of mandatory checkpoints and straight paths through shooting galleries. But, just because this is a true old-school first-person shooter doesn't mean we've ignored all the good new stuff the last two decades have brought. Headshots? Hell yeah. More physics and interactivity? You betcha. Widescreen, controller support, and auto saves? 3D Realms and Voidpoint have taken the best of both worlds and cooked it all into a bloody stew.

Throws mostly those kinds of problems at you that can be solved with a shotgun, and that's a very satisfying solution. Love all the effort that was put into this game, from the 90s style 3d realms logo with the old Apogee sound effect, the 90s menu, the entire aesthetic of the game, the gunplay, the fast-paced action, the wide open areas in the levels (take that, 90s hardware), the readability of enemies and interactables, and the fact that it features trashy one-liners that aren't very sexist (least how I perceive it). Also, loads of easter eggs and shout outs to other games and movies. I also love that they actually used old tech to build the game. This adds another layer of retro compared to those games that look retro but use Unreal Engine or the likes, not meaning that they are worse.
Wow, what a game! The level design is among the best I've seen in a long time. However, the middle chapters drag a bit, and I wish they had introduced more weapon and enemy types. The later chapters start handing out more ammo and makes the guns more fun. You'll definitely want to quick-save after each encounter, because if you don't take enemies down fast enough, they will make you pay. It was so close to perfection, but those few issues held it back. Regardless, highly recommend. 4/5

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It's fun to play while putting on a podcast. Impressive use of the Build engine and it hits a certain spot with me, having played Duke3d back in the day and also making custom maps for it. It's great to see the devs pushing old tech to its limits. The weapons leave to be desired, however. There aren't many of them, and while they offer alternate fire modes, they aren't all that interesting. I find myself sticking mainly to the same guns I started with, the lover boy and penetrator (pistol and shotgun). Other weapons don't offer much except for the gatling gun which gets me out of tight spots. The enemies are all of the cyborg variety and they are varied but don't necessarily force you to use distinct tactics. The main character, Shelley is pretty tame in comparison to Duke Nukem. The maps are very well done, with a noticeable variety of themes, there is an enormous amount of attention to detail there, I wish the rest of the work on the game was done so. Holding it back are mainly the weapons which I find kind of boring. There is also something weird going on with auto aim, even when it's turned off. I give this a solid 85/100.
Weird movement bug dependent on the way you're facing: For some reason in all directions but one, after you're done holding a movement key, there's a weird bit of sliding in one direction. You could look one way and the D key not be affected, and look another and have the W key be the unaffected one. It's not anything major, just something that I thought I would point out. It's hard not to notice after a while.
A bit bland, did not like it.
It's fine, though I haven't found it as notable as other build engine games. Probably just a matter of preference.
Pretty close to masterpiece status if you ask me.
AWESOME retro-style boomer shooter from the label that produced the best boomer shooters ever made. Also funny that they're called Boomer Shooters as it was Gen Xer's that developed and play the games, Boomers were retiring when this genre came around, and due to all the lead in the air at the time, they have difficulty operating phones and televisions, nevermind being able to play a video game.
A great retro-shooter that takes inspirations from the old classics while still maintaining that modern polish. There is some replay value for the 100% gamer, as well as playing with the different difficulties and bonus missions.
this is a great game in its genre. hommage to what shooters used to be. negative reviews are often left by fortnite kids with no real appreciation for this genre i suppose.
