The Fall Of The Public Domain - Episode One: The Call
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit's an average rabbit with an average job and an average sense that things- you know- things could be better.
Until the simple act of trying to go on a date mysteriously transports him to a dark, dusty cave where he meets a plethora of mysterious public domain characters and one enigmatic outlier with a strange agenda and a mountain of miniscule ninjas at his disposal. Who is Han Gorou? Why is he being followed by Merlin the Magician? What's with the mysterious young lady with the missing name? And is it AT ALL POSSIBLE that Oswald can avoid perpetual nuisance Mickey Mouse for longer than a single episode?
Only one way to find out.

The Gyaku Ninja clan has finally taken notice and are using this Law of Fiction to their advantage, increasing their power to take over the planet! And now the Gods of Fiction are balancing the odds by sending their most iconic warriors to stop them!
Take control of some of the greatest fictional characters of all time:
Winnie the Pooh - Equipped with his iconic pop rifle and not nearly enough sense to not use it!
W. Sherlock Holmes - Deadly pistol in hand and aching for a distraction to tide him over to the next mystery.
Alice Liddel - Brought an Uzi she found on the floor. Odd! but stranger things have happened to her- and recently!

Just finished playing Episode One: The Call. It was a simple yet very promising start. Choosing Oswald the Lucky Rabbit as the main character instead of the more popular Mickey Mouse was an brilliant idea. I feel that having Oswald as the MC allows for a greater level of freedom in the characterization department as well as giving Oswald a adventure of his own. I found the game a bit rough around the edges with some bugs and slightly off level design , but overall it was a fun ride with some charming characters. This game was clearly made with a lot of passion and I highly encourage you to purchase this game!
This game is a fun time waster. The character selection is all over the place and I love it, having all these random public domain characters all in one game is really fun and I think an arena shooter is a great way to pull it off. The game itself can get more challenging and its fun too see how long you'll last. Also follow their Twitter! they post game updates all the time, you'll love seeing what they have in store for the future. Can't wait for Oswald!

Despite being a short playthrough, really love the game so far. Cant wait to see what else is coming
A fun game with some of the most funniest dialogues I've ever read. I love old slang, and I love toons.
Inverse Ninjas VS. The Public Domain is a game that I would absolutely recommend for anyone who's looking for something they can play for a quick 10-20 minutes a day. In it's current state it's definitely not the kind of game you can pump hours into but it really doesn't need to be. It does what it sets out to do and it does it well.
Overview
Despite being in very early access, the game is already in an enjoyable state. There are a few small issues that I have with the game as it is right now but the game is still a fun experience even with these issues. As of now there is a singleplayer, and local multiplayer mode. singeplayer/player 1 can be controlled either by keyboard or controller, while players 2-4 will need controllers. Currently I've only managed to play singleplayer on keyboard, so I cannot speak for the game's controller and/or multiplayer experience but at the very least the singleplayer is solid.
Characters/Weaponry
As the name would imply the playable characters of the game are all within the Public Domain, specifically in the US. Currently there are five playable characters (Winnie, Sherlock Holmes, Alice, Sun Wukong, and the Mouse), with a sixth (Dan Backslide, the villain of the Dover Boys cartoon) confirmed to be coming at a later date. Characters currently don't play different aside from the starting weapon, of which there is also five (Rifle, Revolver, Uzi, Grenade Launcher, and Harpoon), don't think Dan's weapon is confirmed so it'll be a nice surprise to see what he wields when they add him to the game.
Bugs/Issues
Most of the bugs that I've experiences are already known by the developer and therefor are to be patched in future updates. The first of these is the final ninja, which is unkillable, this as far I know will be fixed in the very next update of the game, as the developer has already fixed it on their end. The second bug, which is also already known and will be gone soon is Mick's Harpoon, which has a deadly level of DPS due to a bug in its pierce ability, leading it to deal damage for every frame that the harpoon shot is in contact with a ninja. As for Issues, the main one I have is the lack of a control menu for keyboard, which leads the player to need to figure out the controls themselves. Aside from that a known issue that isn't a bug is the sheer speed that enemy shurikens fly, it's very difficult to dodge a shuriken once it has been tossed, though I've never been hit if I put a wall between myself and the ninja so I assume that at the very least they don't pass through walls. I think slightly decreasing the flight speed of the shurikens would make the game a little more fair.
Suggestions
These are a couple of suggestions for future features, and character/weapon combos that I would like to see. Firstly, a menu that allows you to edit keybinds for keyboard would be very much appreciated, as well as the earlier mentioned controls menu to allow for the player to immediately know all controls for both keyboard and controller play. Compatibility for two players on keyboard would be appreciated too, if WASD and <V^> could be split between players 1 and 2 I think it should be possible to fit two players on one keyboard. 3 or 4 would get way too crowded but 2 I think should be doable. As far as enemy ninja types, perhaps one that can throw caltrops on the floor that damage you if you touch them, serving as temporary area denial that decays after a while (the ninja's suit could perhaps be orange or brown), and another that can use kunai, which can be thrown, but are slower yet more damaging than the shurikens, and can also swipe at close range (this ninja could be a dark shade of green) It was mentioned on Twitter that bosses were being considered, if you're open to using PD characters as bosses i'd like to see them have a similar motif to the existing ninjas, with the same yin-yang symbols integrated into their design. Whether they're possessed or they're working willingly, I think it would make the designs of bosses have a nice level of cohesion. As mentioned earlier the next character is confirmed to be Dan Backslide, which is going to be extremely funny IMO, but would not be complete if he couldn't run over ninjas in a stolen runabout. I think as far as weapons go, if you don't have one decided already, a tommy-gun would suit him well. As for my own suggestions for potential new characters, I will always be supportive of seeing cryptozoological and mythological characters in these kinds of projects (being centuries to millennia old, they are PD too after all.). I've posted this on Twitter before but I would love to see Nessie sporting a minigun as a starting weapon, I think it would be a really silly but fun combination. Aside from that, I've seen a lot of people suggesting Felix the Cat, which I could see wielding a shotgun or maybe a sniper rifle. Some other characters that IMO could be unique are Merlin (with some form of magic themed projectile), Stingy Jack (with a flamethrower), Robin Hood (who would fairly obviously wield a bow), Thor (with either Mjolnir or a lightning themed firearm), and as one may gather from my username, i'd absolutely appreciate Wonderland's Cheshire Cat... with the absolute most chaotic weapon option you can think of because that thing is the definition of chaotic neutral.
This was a lot of fun and the idea of playing as Public Domian characters was a good time
famous characters if they were fighting ninjas lol
fun little game that utilizes some of my favorite characters. Also the soundtrack SLAPS.
pretty good game even though it was fairly short. looking forward to chapters 2-7
