this game looks fantastic! Lots of pretty sunset scenes but my favorites were the monochromatic night/winter/starry scenes. The puzzles weren't too hard with the exception of the one I mention below. The music and voice acting was some of the best I've heard! The story was a little draggy (there was a lot of talking) but it wasn't terrible. There is some platforming which I didn't like- I never like- especially when your character doesn't jump very well but there wasn't much of it and we quickly moved away from it. Another thing I really don't like is puzzles where the environment is so dark, its hard to make out the pieces. Fortunately, this only happened once- with the picture swapping puzzle. You almost have to move each one to the side with the light just to see what they are. Tiny bit annoying and I still found myself squinting at the pictures to see who they were. Luckily, it wasn't a timed puzzle which saved the game enough to keep me plugging along. I really liked the ending. I thought it tied up very neatly- some games don't and I appreciated that. Overall, I liked this game, wish it was a little faster but definitely would play another game from this dev.
The best thing I can share regarding my experience playing this video game is that I felt a deep wave of emotions and an eager desire to unravel the story! I felt completely immersed! In a simpler and summarized way, I share the following notes that I was taking while playing: + Interesting narrative theme, with an approach that prompts the player to reflect on the subject. + The soundtrack that composes the video game follows extremely well the atmosphere and emotions aroused. + Nice visual that makes us focus on the narrative and emotions. + The experience delivers a touching sensibility. + The voice acting pleasantly contributes, in its own measure (taking into account the nature of this project), to the experience. + Willingness to play without interruptions to unravel the story. +/- Clarity of subtitles in some situations (for example, reinforce the outline). - Some mechanics. But let me say that this last point didn't affect, at all, my experience with Into a Dream. I really enjoyed it!
I have to admit, I'm impressed. For a game made by a single developer, it's absolutely stunning. The game's art and environments are gorgeous, something that immediately hits you the moment you load up the game, and Filipe had managed to maintain enough variety in environment that the beauty remains fresh, creating an unsettling contrast when the darker parts do hit. The soundtrack is genuinely beautiful and extremely well fitted to each scene. And speaking of sound, this game's audio was mixed quite well and with almost all sounds assets being high quality (with the ones that weren't being totally passable). The voice acting is also pretty darn good with decent variety amongst characters (and all characters are voiced). Gameplay is pretty simplistic but in my opinion works just fine and is just engaging enough. While most of your time will be spent walking and listening to dialogue, there are some simplistic puzzles and a few platforming segments (however, there is also a brief stealth segment near the end). And of course, the star of the show: the story. This is really where the game shines and it's almost exclusively told through character dialogue but also through environment. If you're someone with a short attention span, this might not be the game for you. However, for those who like to take it easy, sit with a soothing hot drink and get swept into a good story for a few hours; you should definitely give this game a go. The story is linear and the dialogue options mostly just lead to slightly different conversations. The story might be confusing at first the way it shifts between timelines but you, along with the character themselves will quickly get the hang of it and the story does start unfolding quite interestingly, allowing you to piece it together as you play. Of course, it's not a perfect game. A few things to note: - some of the animations are a little clunky and unnatural though this doesn't impede too much on immersion. - The controls can be a little strange at first, however, I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as bad as a lot of other reviewers have stated (I beat the game on keyboard), the game is played entirely without a mouse by the way, good if you wanna play in a car or public transport and can also be played with controller. - A select few scenes, in my opinion, didn't seem super natural and were a little off in terms of dialogue choice and voice acting but this is mostly me nit-picking and it's an extremely very minor issue. Do note, if you want to get all achievements and achieve 100%, you're going to need to really pay attention, explore, and look in every nook and cranny before progressing, and as other reviewers have said, don't leave immediately after watching the fireworks. Overall, well worth the price and even more so on sale. Good stuff Filipe, keep it up. and applause to the voice acting team, y'all are great. 8.5/10

Great little game! Chills down my spine and teary eyes.
Great story, voice wcting and music!
Definitely sort of kind of cried at the end. Thank goodness for the happy ending! Voice acting is great and the story is compelling though it took me a little while to get used to the jumping mechanic. You can play on both keyboard and control but because of said jumping mechanic, I found it easier with an xbox controller. It does focus around degenerative illness so if you are particularly sensitive to that topic, it may not be a good fit. For those who want something with relaxing game-play but with a serious story, this would be a good choice.
