Starfox meets roguelike. I can see this game having a bright future with a few tweeks and more content. Fun score chaser as it currently sits though.
Very fun game that starts chill n cozy that rather quickly becomes hectic and extremely thrilling
Had the pleasure of beta testing this one. It's a fun arcade-style title that has very streamlined controls, but that doesn't equate to being easy. It's probably a bit content-light at the moment, but the developer is committed to continuing to expand it well after launch, and I'm looking forward to zoning out with it every so often to see what's been added.

I cover a wide range of genres both paid and unpaid, providing unbiased opinions as well as regular giveaway events.

Star Fox 64 as a Roguelike
Star Fox 64 is my all-time favorite video game; even now, I can envision myself sitting down for 5 hours straight with a big smile on my face because it had such an impact on my youth growing up in the 1990s. I still find myself returning to that game when I'm feeling upset since it has always helped to calm me down and help me let off some steam in a positive manner. Interstellar Plunderer, unlike many other "Star Fox Inspired" games that simply copies the dialogue and characters to something slightly different without adding anything new to the game, does exactly that. It's entertaining, engaging, and includes a leader board for the top positions based on how long you survive. So, take Star Fox 64 and eliminate the dialogue and characters, leaving only the game play and bosses to cycle through while escalating in difficulty and having to swerve in and around oncoming fire to collect EXP globs to level up and equip yourself with upgrades. That is it.
Conclusion
While the game is quite solid for an action roguelike, I believe there is a major lack of replayability after two hours. This is because to the high number of repeated bosses and events; there does not appear to be much content feeling like it is Early Access or something that may be worked on in the future, thus everything must repeat in a slightly random order. So, once you've defeated the first bosses, the second variants contain only a few extra minions or projectiles. If you don't build a good arsenal, the same occurrences will repeat for hours until you become overwhelmed.
Glad I was able to beta-test for this and can say this game runs very well and is cozy to play on the Steam Deck. Very good job and I couldn't be more proud ^^. I enjoy how hectic it can become and I haven't had many games that I can play when my brain is completely drained recently and it's been a joy. :3
Addictive arcade game with a lot of upgrading mechanics. Nice gfx, goofy atmosphere. Great fun. Runs great on Steam Deck too.
This game has positive stuffs, talking about gaming mechanics and ideas. It can make you have fun, it could be very playable, controls are not perfect but they're enough ok. The game itself it's enough honest. It would be a good game at the end. But the very big pixelation made it almost unplayable to me. Dude, why pixel squares are so big? I approximated they are big like 5 pixels! It's way too much, I can barely understand what's actually happening in the screen. Why not just 2 or 3 pixes big squares? Look, I wouldn't reallly want to put a thumb down. But I don't even want to put a thumb up at this point. And seeing that Steam doesn't have a thumb "middle" (I think it should actually, when stuffs are not bad, but neither good)... the only available option on Steam to not just be another "thumb up", it's to put a thumb down. Let's know that I'm very very ready to change my "thumb" if developers will put any kind of graphic enhancement. I'm not a "wanna beautiful graphic at all costs" guy... but at least the graphic have to do his minimum job: make people undestand what they're seeing. There are games from the late 80s which are clearer about what's happening on the screen... and that is an issue in 2024.
Good roguelite action. Was missing some variety before, but the devs have added new levels, weapons and bosses to the game, so now I can wholeheartedly recommend the game to all roguelike fans. Reading the enemy bullet patterns might take some time to get used to, but it will click after a while.
Where? To “unknown” Отрывок из перевода композиции Infected Mushroom - Lost In Space Чердак.
If you enjoy arcade-styled shoot-em-ups, you'll love this game. It's simple and fun; the art style is also very nice! Great way to pass the time.
