Reviews
This is one of those times I wish there were a neutral review choice because while I don't recommend this game, I wouldn't explicitly advise against buying it, either. To me, the negatives outweigh the positives, so I'll lean towards "Not Recommended". There are 50 levels total -- 40 in level pack 1 and 10 in level pack 2. It has Steam Workshop integration, but there are only 11 levels there. Most of the levels are easy and don't require much, if any, thinking. A few of the levels are trickier, however. The graphics leave much to be desired. The main gameplay graphics (the ground, the block you control, the blocks to be removed, and the animation when those blocks are removed) are minimalist, but good for this type of game. However, the ancillary graphics (menu, buttons, etc) don't look good, in my opinion. Those graphics are too "low-resolution", as if they're being drawn on a 320x200 resolution screen. The controls also leave much to be desired. The game uses an isometric perspective, so your movement is diagonal, but you use the arrow keys to move your block. The controls menu shows a controller is supported, and if using a controller, then there are two methods for movement -- using the stick or the directional pad. When using the keyboard, however, you use only the arrow keys -- no alternative method is provided and the keys are not rebindable. Because you use the arrow keys to move in diagonal directions -- the up arrow moves you up and to the left, the down arrow moves you down and to the right, the left arrow moves you down and to the left, and the right arrow moves you up and to the right -- it can be confusing or disorienting, potentially leading you to make mistakes which you must then undo (you are allowed 5 undo actions per level) or restart the level. Additionally, when you complete each level, you must use the mouse to click the "Next" button; there is no keyboard shortcut for this. The biggest problem I had, and the thing which pushed me towards "Not Recommended", is that on two separate occasions -- once while playing the normal levels and once while playing the largest, most difficult Workshop level -- the game showed the "game over" screen for the level (your only choices are to restart the level or go to the main menu), even though there were still plenty of moves left to be made. The game should show that screen only when it is impossible to finish the level (because there is no way to remove the remaining blocks), but that was not the case either of those times. The levels do not have a time limit, so it appears this is a bug. For what it's worth, I did enjoy playing the levels, even though they were mostly easy. If it weren't for the controls and the bug, I would recommend this game.
