About
Forget the claustrophobic capsules of the 70s. This time, you're at the helm of an advanced space shuttle, but technology loves to play tricks - especially with the infamous Y2K bug looming. Interkosmos 2000 is an even wilder, weirder, and more unpredictable VR adventure.
You don't just have to maintain orbit (and remember to breathe); you must actively pilot the ship and keep it from falling apart. If you fail? Well, you better start spelling D-O-O-M.
Total System Control: Maintain constant situational awareness. Manage your engine levels and monitor all critical systems to ensure your survival.
High-Stakes Maintenance: You are in charge. When things break down, it's up to you to make fast decisions and prioritize repairs to keep the capsule running.
Precision Navigation: Steer through tricky asteroid fields, execute delicate docking maneuvers at space stations, and guide your ship safely back to Earth.
Immersive Audiovisuals: Experience the awe and isolation of space, enhanced by striking graphics and atmospheric sound design that pull you deep into the experience.
Thrilling Story Campaign: Embark on a wild, fascinating space ride full of unexpected events, from launch to landing.
Unrestrained Sandbox Mode: Take a break from the pressure. Float freely, practice your skills, and enjoy the cosmos at your own pace.

Interkosmos 2000 is a virtual reality space adventure developed and published by Ovid Works that combines spacecraft management, survival mechanics, narrative storytelling, and simulation elements into a highly immersive experience. As a follow-up to the original Interkosmos, the game expands the concept significantly, placing players inside a detailed spacecraft and challenging them to complete a mission that could determine the fate of the future. Rather than focusing on large-scale exploration or combat, the game creates tension through isolation, technical problem-solving, and the constant threat of disaster in the unforgiving environment of space. The story embraces an alternate-history science-fiction setting filled with unusual technology, political undertones, and moments of dark humor. Players assume the role of a lone astronaut assigned to an important mission that quickly becomes far more dangerous than expected. Throughout the journey, a series of unexpected complications, mechanical failures, and increasingly bizarre situations force players to adapt and survive. The narrative blends suspense and comedy effectively, creating an experience that feels both dramatic and entertaining. One of the game's most impressive achievements is the way it utilizes virtual reality to create a genuine sense of presence. Every button, switch, monitor, and control panel within the spacecraft can be physically interacted with. Instead of issuing commands through menus, players must manually operate equipment, monitor systems, and react to emergencies using natural hand movements. This direct interaction creates a level of immersion that traditional screen-based experiences struggle to replicate. The spacecraft itself serves as the centerpiece of the game. The cockpit is densely packed with instruments and functional systems that players must learn to understand and manage. Life support, navigation, communications, propulsion, and emergency systems all require attention throughout the mission. Initially, the number of controls can seem overwhelming, but mastering them becomes one of the most rewarding aspects of the experience. The gradual process of learning how every system works helps players feel like genuine astronauts rather than simply controlling a character. Survival mechanics play a central role in maintaining tension. Space is presented as an inherently hostile environment where even small mistakes can have serious consequences. Equipment malfunctions occur unexpectedly, forcing players to diagnose problems and implement solutions under pressure. Many situations require quick thinking and prioritization, particularly when multiple systems begin failing simultaneously. These moments create a constant sense of vulnerability that keeps players engaged throughout the mission. The gameplay loop revolves around observation, maintenance, and problem-solving. Rather than engaging in combat, players spend much of their time ensuring that their spacecraft remains operational. Every successful repair and every crisis averted contributes to a strong sense of accomplishment. The challenge comes not from defeating enemies but from managing increasingly complex situations while isolated millions of miles from help. Navigation sequences add welcome variety to the experience. Players are required to guide their spacecraft through hazardous situations, perform docking procedures, and execute precise maneuvers while managing limited resources. These segments provide opportunities to apply the knowledge gained from mastering the ship's systems and reinforce the feeling of being responsible for every aspect of the mission. The visual presentation is particularly effective in virtual reality. Looking through the spacecraft's windows and seeing the vast emptiness of space stretching endlessly in every direction creates a powerful sense of scale. Earth, orbital structures, and distant celestial bodies serve as constant reminders of both the beauty and danger of the environment. Inside the spacecraft, detailed equipment and realistic layouts further enhance immersion. Sound design contributes significantly to the atmosphere. Mechanical hums, warning alarms, radio transmissions, and environmental effects constantly reinforce the reality of operating a complex machine in a dangerous setting. Quiet moments create feelings of isolation, while emergency situations become far more stressful thanks to urgent audio cues and escalating system warnings. Another strength is the game's ability to create meaningful tension without relying on traditional horror elements. The fear comes from uncertainty and the possibility of catastrophic failure. A malfunctioning system or a missed procedure can quickly transform a routine task into a life-threatening crisis. This approach keeps players focused and invested in every action they perform. The inclusion of a Sandbox Mode provides additional value by allowing players to experiment more freely with the spacecraft and its systems. Without the pressure of story progression, players can spend time learning mechanics, exploring orbital environments, and appreciating the simulation aspects of the game. This mode serves as both a training tool and an enjoyable alternative way to experience the world. The game is not without its shortcomings. Certain interactions can occasionally feel awkward, particularly during high-pressure moments where precise control is required. Some players may also find the learning curve steep due to the number of systems that must be understood and managed. Additionally, the confined setting and repetitive maintenance tasks may not appeal to those seeking constant action or exploration. Despite these limitations, Interkosmos 2000 succeeds because it remains committed to its vision. Rather than simplifying spacecraft operation for accessibility, it embraces complexity and asks players to take responsibility for every aspect of their survival. This dedication to immersion gives the game a distinct identity and helps it stand apart from many other VR experiences. For fans of virtual reality simulations, science-fiction adventures, and games centered around problem-solving under pressure, Interkosmos 2000 delivers a memorable and engaging journey. Its combination of detailed spacecraft management, immersive VR interactions, atmospheric storytelling, and constant tension creates an experience that captures both the wonder and danger of space travel. While it occasionally struggles with control precision and pacing, its ambition and originality make it one of the more distinctive space-themed VR titles available. Rating: 6/10
Immediately bought this after getting Interkosmos for cheap during summer sale(also a fun game). Went on a "similar game" hunting spree after playing this but couldn't find much so expect a fairly unique experience(Tin Can seemed to fit the bill but they killed the main part of the VR version after complaints of motion sickness...). Expands the premise of the original, adds a much longer story along with some extra missions, all very fun if you enjoy playing around in space, juggling systems, & dealing with emergencies. Graphics were good, performance was smooth. Some slight hand/physics jank like hands getting stuck in the spare fuses box or tilting back to the docking computer taking a few discrete movements. Planning orbit maneuver gave me KSP vibes & actually executing the burns with my own hands was fun, but TBH I didn't try to optimize my burns. Played in Linux w/ my BSB2e & Index controllers. Hoping they'll come up with even more games like this in the future...
good game
pas intérressant
Fun and funny! Love the flight mechanics and the job simulator stuff on this game. Works well, looks fantastic even at 70% resolution on Vive Pro 2 with wand controllers (i76700k RTX3060ti). Two hours in I think I'm about halfway through.
Nice Little Game. Pretty immersive, I've finished it in one playthrough. I didn't have a problem with controls since I love KSP. But for someone who is not familiar with controls in space it will be a hard time. But the jokes are veeeery funny. I loved every second of the game. Didn't try the Sandbox mode. The story though is worth the money. :)
The game is huge fun for its price. It’s just like VTOL VR and Kerbal space program combined. Would buy it again, had a huge laugh while playing
sadly the steam version is super shaky for me on oculus quest 2. had to refund. shame because i have it on the oculus store itself and it runs decent.
when i buy a game i expect it to function. but even the most basic concept of grabbing bars to move around the concept just Didn't. it's been a YEAR
(Windows 11, Meta Quest) Game is impossible to play, its choppy and it has a ton of bugs
