About
Autobattler where you send misfits into vehicular combat. Your job is to prepare them, deploy them, watch them struggle and finally watch them die or win in massive explosions.
Prepare your drop squad by swapping weapons, vehicles, and pilots to your liking. Select a mission and choose your deployment area on the map. From that moment on, it is hands off. You can only watch as your units try to accomplish their task. Every pilot has their own traits affecting their behaviour. While lost equipment can be retrieved from the battlefield, fallen pilots are lost for good. So take care of them if you want to win. New equipment is rewarded for successful missions.

A genuinely good game, I'll give a brief run down on how the gameplay goes since you can see the aesthetics in the trailer. You are given an inventory screen where you can make a "task force" by putting in ships, tanks, exo skeletons, space craft, etc. Then you assign those vehicles a pilot that have their own personalities (buffs and debuffs), you can click on the pilots, vehicles, and weapons to get details about them / their stats. You can change the vehicles weapons that you have by unequipping whatever was in them (you get vehicles as your rewards by completing missions). At the bottom left, there is a "refurbish" slot that lets you put in 3 items of any kind to get an "upgrade". They don't explain much about this and I would love if there was some sort of explanation for this part since it FEELS like there is a tier system that always ends at "sea guardian", you put in 3 of those weapons and get another sea guardian out :) :) :) would love some info on that. Anyways, the refurbish item lets you basically upgrade lower level gear: exo skeletons, machine guns, rpgs, into to higher level gear: heavy tanks, battle ships, railguns, nuclear bombs. Then after you have your task force assembled, you click on a mission and you are given a map to deploy your units. They all come down at once in a square radius so I wouldn't recommend having ships and ground units on the same force unless you want to deploy your ships on the coast. And I wouldn't recommend bringing ships if you can see the mission doesn't have any water... definitely never done that... Once you have everything deployed, you can just watch your units duke it out and complete the mission, or you can right click on spaces to "bombard" it, which just means that your units will fire in that direction with everything they have, so if an enemy is behind a mountain then shelling the mountain to dig to the enemy is a strategy you can use. You can also "force move" your units somewhere which just means they will attempt to navigate to that spot. And you can manually control your units, I haven't done that much except to retreat a bomber that was chaffing and going in circles instead of extracting, it was going to die so had to manually get in there. HUGE TIP!!! I also would like some info on this in terms on if it's intended or not. I do not believe you can get extra pilots, so the game ends when all of your original pilots are dead. Your units (the vehicles) will never die, you will always get them back at the end of a mission with all of its weapons, but if the pilots die, they are dead and you don't get more. So don't let them die if at all possible, you do of course get new pilots when you lose and restart. Hope this helps! Overall pretty fun for 9$. I would say it's probably 4-10 hours of gameplay. I imagine the dev might also add more to the game as well?

game does not boot and displays a long winded error message about memory buffering. Could've been great but alas avoid this one until it is atleast in a runnable and playable, honestly should've been an early access title instead
I've had a good amount of fun with the game as it stands, but it currently lacks depth. The game feels more like an early access build than a finished experience. TLDR: Wait for future updates before buying. The humanity count is a cool system, but it doesn't really add anything to the gameplay. I love the weapon customization on the vehicles, and it's satisfying to see what you get after refurbishing one, but the system could use some polishing. Perhaps a crafting-recipe system, or some way to progress through tiers of tech. I also love the art style, and I hope the developer keeps up the good work! There are no tutorials at all, so it took a couple of runs to get a feel for the gameplay loop. When going through a run, beyond watching your completed mission count go up, there isn't much of an end goal. With the limited pilot roster, unless you get lucky with a refurbishment or a solid selection of reward vehicles, it's hard to justify bringing another pilot and vehicle into the mix. Once I had a huge rocket gunship fully decked out, it became the only vehicle I used consistently, and the only one I kept between runs. Something to improve this would be to add resource management through money or supplies and reward parts instead of fully decked out vehicles. A shop between missions could also allow players to buy weapons and ship parts, as well as hire new pilots to help replenish the limited roster. That way, it would help the gameplay loop of building a vehicle, equipping it with weapons, and pairing it with a pilot. For anyone considering picking this up, I'd hold off until future updates add more content and refinement.

It's a mixed bag. On one hand - I like the idea that this game has gone for. I like the huge variety of units, weapons, and utilities that you can experiment with. I like the autobattler idea. Overall - there are many things here that make this game interesting for me. However - I feel like I am left wanting more. Not more variety - not more weapons - but more from the battles. I dislike the gameplay loop of trying to grind your way to the top through repetition and getting to pick a single high-value vehicle to bring back with you. I dislike that your pilots cannot be replenished. I dislike that the maps are so small and battles are so short-lived. I feel like this game could be so much more than just a simple autobattler where you throw a small handful of units into battles repetitively, rinse-and-repeat until you build up to the endgame. Perhaps I'm asking for too much, but I think that this game could be much better with a campaign mode, with better, larger-scale battles across larger maps with more units and more cohesive AI that execute missions and work together better. I think the idea this game has gone for has a ton of potential and it could develop much further. As it is currently I'd be willing to recommend it, but, I really think this game could be so much more.
Needs to be able to add more pilots so that infantry is actually viable Edit: realized this isnt a very helpful review, so basically, good game, needs updates, yippee.

A simple looking but incredibly in-depth game
Ironically, while the game setting and atmosphere is incredibly bleak, I found the minimalistic gameplay to be somehow relaxing. The replayability is mostly based on trying out different vehicles, so my guess is that after 10-20 hours it could become dull, but the pricetag seems appropriate.
