Its fun because in a way you're learning what attracts "society".....I'm not sure how stretchy these...."reactions" are but I'd say the outcomes come close to reality.....at least our current reality. .v.;;; If you like social project type games like REIGN, this is your type of game B)
I'm really enjoying this game. I just finished the first play through and am looking forward to playing through again to unlock more endings and see if I can completely break democracy : - ) Overall, I felt the controls are pretty intuitive, there is plenty of tutorial help available if you want it but you can get it out of your way if you don't need it. My favorite part is that this is the kind of subject that some game designers would have taken a pretty heavy handed approach towards but this takes a much more thoughtful approach. Basically giving you a behind the scenes perspective on how this stuff works without trying to shove any ideology down your throat.
This game should be made compulsory for all citizens.
Very fun and satisfying game, brilliant concept and executed really well. This stuff most likely happens every day in real life...
I love the concept but quite honestly I think the game is poorly made. It is overly convoluted with tutorials that seemingly never stop because there are so many different systems, mechanics and wee little features to learn. Once you think you got the hang of things a new thing pops up to worry about and spend time to learn along side all of the other things that you already need to consult the tutorial wiki for constantly, and it feels like it never stops. The hashtag & topic system feels like going 8 sub-menus deep into a mouse-over header in an ancient version of Word. I went into the game not expecting it to be so filled to the brim with different systems and mechanics, it became much more stressful to play than it was enjoyable and entertaining. Bad first impression, it didn't go away after 40 minutes, not for me thanks. I'm sure there are other ways of conveying these systems in a less confusing manner, perhaps start with the UI, it makes things feel quite crammed in. Also maybe there's no need for so many systems... If there has to be a built-in tutorial wiki that has to constantly be referenced that also seemingly never ends perhaps you need to take a step-back and re-think how you're putting this game together, maybe its starting to become just a little bit bloated?. This isn't supposed to a brain-teaser puzzle game but that's what it felt like a lot of the time. Perhaps it'll be right up your street despite the very convoluted systems, perhaps that wont be a problem for you, for me however it was. Also the settings menu is awful, it consists of literally nothing other than a Music & Sounds slider, and an option to turn the tutorial off. If you'd like a game that delves into the same topics of populous manipulation and control but more of a visual novel-esque news corporation 'choices matter' game with some future dystopia I recommend HEADLINER and Headliner: NoviNews, they're more like social-commentaries regarding influence on the populous simply by what is chosen to be headlined in the media. The talking head on the TV said it so it must be true, right? Again, I love the concept and what the game is commentating on, too bad for me that I couldn't enjoy the actual game itself. Influence Inc is interesting game about an interesting (and troubling) topic. I like how it starts you off with both easy tasks and easy choices, but it amps up the challenge both technically and morally. And at least as important, maybe, is the clever, dry sense of humor and the hidden bits that you stumble across.
I found this game so satisfying. You get to decide between profit and morality... and manipulate media accordingly. But be ready to face the consequences! At one point, I had to take a breather and reflect what I just caused. A well thought indie-game which highlight media manipulation! Loved how the music changed when I started to take on more... hmm... sinister missions. It added to the change of ambiance and immersiveness of me becoming the villain. I played 3 games and got 2 of the 5 endings so far. After the tutorial 1.5h, each subsequent game took approximatly 40-50 min to finish. Will try to unlock the rest of the endings as well.
Simples Spiel, welches das Socialmedia-Game ganz gut zeigt.
Nice game. The idea is great and the implementation a little less so because I don't think the interface is very good. It's too cumbersome and annoying to find the info and documents you're looking for. But overall, I enjoyed the game. There are five endings, but there should probably be more because you can get the "status quo" ending even when you change society significantly, just not in one of the game's four predefined ways. But you can do a playthrough pretty quickly, so it's not hard to play around with all the different things you can do. It's a fun game and a great concept that reminds you about all the dark forces lurking about on social media.
