INDIKA is a third-person, story-driven game set in a strange world where religious visions clash with harsh reality. It tells the story of a young nun who sets off on a journey of self-discovery with the most unusual, horn-headed companion by her side.
On the outside, Indika seems to be a typical nun attempting to adjust to a difficult and monotonous monastery life. Humble and innocent in her appearance, do not be deceived as this young girl has also made a highly unlikely acquaintance—as she speaks with the devil himself.

Indika’s unusual connection with the Evil One leads her on an errand beyond the safe walls of the monastery. The world she discovers can only be described as a wild combination of comedy and tragedy straight out of the novels by Dostoyevski and Bulhakov.
The subjects of religion and authority are prevalent throughout Indika’s journey and she’ll be faced with many questions along the way. Guide her to find the answers one by one before she can finish her life-defining odyssey.
Odd Meter is a small, independent studio formerly based in Moscow and now operating out of Kazakhstan. Its members put aesthetics at the forefront and aren’t afraid to tread the fine line of ethical norms. Their game is a great testament to that, as INDIKA constitutes an open challenge to the industry's established approach to creating video games.

Sorry, can't find anything positiv about it - apart maybe from the (suprisingly) superb voice acting. Otherwise, it's an asset-flip trash: looks nice thanks to the engine, but has no substance. Painfully slow, no relevant gameplay, and even as a walking simulator it barely scores points, also due to the fact that the underlying narrative can only considered deep or thought-provoking if you haven't ever read a book. Can't even entertain from a "whacky/fever dream"-POV, as there was only a single wtf-moment (which was coincidentally also featured in the trailer) and the out-of-place video game elements (level ups, points) don't go anywhere. All in all, it was that boring and uninteresting that I couldn't be bother to finish it - despite it's short runtime of about four hours. Definitly not worth any time or money of yours. If like me you're initially intrigued by the untouched cloister-setting and the time periode - just watch the first level on yt to get over that initial curiosity, because the "game" never really evolves from those first minutes.
0/10. Part of the Humble Choice monthly and thought it looks neat and weird. It crashes immediately on launch. I checked out the Community Discussions for any tips. There is a lengthy Dev written trouble shooting which, like well done, but any game has its pinned discussions being like "try these 30 different things out" makes me feel like they couldn't fix the issue and instead have placed that upon the consumer. I spent literally about 2 hours updating drivers and re-validating the files. I gave up. It should not be my job to troubleshoot why your product isn't running "out of the box". I'm glad this was an additional pick up and not my main reason for getting this bundle. Octopatch 2 works no problems. Go figure.
would be a 10/10 book or movie, but a 5/10 game the gameplay gets in the way of the story if anything
Er... Yes, that was certainly a game, I guess... It was weird, but enjoyable. It turns your Steam Deck into a jet engine, though. Weird story and bizarre 2D / pixel art minigames. Worth a shot if you can get it on sale. I liked the VO, and the "pray" sections were interesting.
Didn't enjoy it as much. The gameplay isn't particularly good, the story and themes aren't as interesting as I thought they'd be. At least it's short?....
Really nice graphics and a few thought provoking concepts handed out along the way, pretty good voice acting and great use of high definition characters and animations and simple level designs. I do wish the puzzles and action scenes were a bit more complicated and difficult as that would make the gameplay more engaging, at least optionally (in case others just wanted to play it for the story aspects). I also really liked the foreshadowing through the points system and the ending was satisfying because I paid attentention to the tooltips and understood the direction it was taking the story. The parts where you can choose whether or not to pray as you navigate through the area were my absolute favourite. They made the game entirely recommendable on their own, those are the parts that will be stuck in my memory for years after finishing the game.
