In Stars And Time

Not an easy game to stomach, but an adventure I don't regret experimenting in the slightest. Although this isn't the first time I've experienced media with time loops, something about this one really clicked. I absolutely loved how the initial simple and classic RPG premise of a group of adventurers about to face the final boss turns into some really interesting, with discussions about faith, cultural differences, as well as some not so fun topics. Never once did doing another loop feel like a chore, because every attempt was always rewarded to some extent with new discovery, new knowledge, or just a new line of dialogue that may change the MC's (and even your own) perspective as to what's happening.

this game's been really fun, its a mechanic that you can use to your advantage, although it will be annoying for some people due to the fact that sometimes things become fetch quest's like specific items and specific requirements, its got a rich story that's amazing and really conveys the main characters mental health declining in a realistic way! 10/10 on this game, a all time favorite of mine!

my absolute favourite game of all time - despite my hyperfixation on it only lasting 3 months (in comparison to my still-ongoing 3 YEAR hyperfixation on undertale), this game has had such a huge impact on me as a person. i've played it over and over, by myself and with friends, and seriously, if there's ONE game you should play if you like narrative-based LGBTQ+ games, i beg of you. p. please. play this one <333 if i had to describe isat as a mixture of games, it would be undertale, deltarune, and omori - all of which are absolutely AMAZING games and you should also go check those out if you haven't!!!! so basically: queer and unwell found family!!!!!! YIPPEE!!!!!!! (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧ this game - and i mean this in the MOST positive way EVER possible - is like a perfectly-written fanfiction, and while i think anyone would love the game (stick with me, people who don't like fanfic!!), i think the prime audience is immediately the fanfic one - the game is literally a hurt/comfort, angsty, found family slowburn, and i absolutely LOVE it for that - and it feels genuinely BEAUTIFUL how it's written. it's like those fanfics you read and forget that they're not canonical material - except this is its entire own story. people who aren't fanfic-lovers will still absolutely love this, but you'll def have more appreciation i feel for some of its tropes/themes if you are one!!!!! go into this 100% blind. this game is a masterpiece. slight warning: this game, as silly as it is, is INCREDIBLY dark. avoid if you don't want to see a mental health spiral, realistic depictions of self-hatred, depression, anxiety (especially over [spoiler] abandonment and memory issues [/spoiler] ), manic episodes, etc., or don't want to see [spoiler] a child dying, a character committing suicide and downplaying it (optional), or a character self-harming (optional) [/spoiler] - stay safe <333 art: absolutely brilliant, ESPECIALLY on the expression front!! the pixel art is really cute as well!! music/SFX: no voice-acting, which can ofc be an issue for blind/illiterate players unfortunately - you might be better off watching a playthrough that's voiced, as this is story > gameplay! the music is really nice the whole way through, and made me cry multiple times!!!! SFX are cool too!!!! :3333 gameplay/QOL: this game is amazing at making you feel frustrated, but not in a negative way - there are SO many QOL features for this game, and they balance out the annoyance so well that you can emphasise with siffrin, while also keep wanting to play. this is very much a story > gameplay gem though, so if you're only interested in gameplay and don't care for story, this one isn't really for you, sorry! story: GO IN BLIND!!!!!!!!!! AND THEN BRING A BOX OF TISSUES!!!!!!!!!!! THIS GAME IS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! THE CHARACTERS ARE ALL ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT AND IT PAINS ME!!!!!!!!!! /POS /GEN!!!!!!!! <3333333333 queer representation: none of the cast is straight, multiple are trans, and it's portrayed in a way where it's important to them but not the main focus of their stories - even if it can be a big focus, there's usually something else as well ([spoiler] mirabelle's struggles with accepting her aroace identity are important to her, but her other struggles with her religion and the pressure vaugarde has put on her are just as important to her character [/spoiler]), which is really refreshing as a queer person to see!! as for 100%ing it - most achievements are easy to get (or if you need a guide they're very straightforward once you know what to do), but the only achievement i genuinely got annoyed at was the 'OP' one, which takes you HOURS of grinding, and i mean HOURS. *however*, 100%ing the game, and getting the OP achievement, is entirely optional, and this game is not a grindfest in the slightest if you don't make it one!! so that's only a word of warning to people who feel like they HAVE to 100% every game they own!! <3333 (very, VERY mild gameplay spoiler tagged here in reference to this achievement: i do admittedly feel that [spoiler] the fact siffrin's maximum level is 99 is bad game design, from an achievement-hunter standpoint, as everyone else's max level is 75. it's not an issue in normal gameplay, but it feels really horrible for this achievement - imo, it should unlock after your PARTY has their levels maxed out, not siffrin's as well. it's entirely pointless and cost me about five hours extra of mindlessly grinding away [/spoiler] - this game has frankly *amazing* QOL features, but this achievement was.... not a great example of that lolllll :'DDDDDD) only thing i'll say: look up a spoiler-free guide on how to get the secret scene at the end. genuinely, it adds SO MUCH to the game. <3333 anyway. barking. yes. please. i am normal about isat. please play this game!!!!!!! /sillyyyyyyy ο(=•ω＜=)ρ⌒☆

This game was a life changing experience

the realisation that the tedium was on purpose made me audibly gasp. 10/10
