This is very similar to what I remember from years ago, except for a few bugs. Brings back memories of when I played this game as a kid! Hopefully the developers will fix these bugs: 1) If you jump near the exit of a room (in the direction of the exit), you normally would leave the room as if you just ran out, but in this version, there is an imaginary wall that prevents you from simply exiting when up in the air (jumping), so your forward motion stops and you complete your jump animation, then land in front of the exit. This is a major problem if the board happens to have a hole in front of the entrance/exit, because you will fall through the hole even though you actually jumped over it. 2) If jumping over a robot, the ceiling would normally prevent you from touching (and being electrocuted by) the robot on the floor above. But somehow in this version you can be electrocuted by a robot on the floor above you, even though there is a ceiling/floor separating you from the robot. 3). The big black ball occasionally passes through the floor / ceiling even though there is no hole present. 4) The lifts are VERY sensitive and usually move multiple floors at a time. I seem to remember having to press UP twice to move the lift up multiple floors, but in this version the lift will continue to zoom until your finger comes off of the button. 5) If you get a high score, you enter your name and press ENTER and it adds you to the high score list. Perfect! BUT if you press ENTER again, it will add your name, AGAIN. Repeatedly pressing ENTER will fill the entire high score board with your name and score. I think this is a bug because you should have to play the game again to get onto the high score list a second time. Hopefully these issues will be resolved quickly. By the way, I tried this with both a controller as well as the keyboard, with identical results. It is actually a bit easier to play with the keyboard, in my opinion. This is a great game but annoying with these little quirks.
It's slow, buggy, the audio drops in and out for me. Needs to be tweaked before I will give it a thumbs up.
To była jedna z moich ulubionych gier z dzieciństwa, w którą grałem we wczesnych latach 90 na Commodore 64. Niestety nigdy jej nie ukończyłem. Kiedyś się wezmę, wyczyszczę wszystkie pokoje, ułożę wszystkie puzzle w hasło do rzwi i zaskoczony profesor Atombender krzyknie "No! No! Noooooo!" No dobra, dam 8/10 z sentymentu. :)
When I start the game, the guy constantly runs to the right and I can't stop it. Acts like a key is stuck. Pressing space bar works ok for jump. If I plug in an XBOX controller into my USB port, I can use the D pad to force him left, but the minute I let off he starts running right again. Impossible to play in this state. If anybody knows a fix for this please let me know.
A few sounds/voice dialogue comes only from the left speaker. Mysterious leftover keyboard commands (Num+ reloads a random room, T key shows the chessboard room overlayed) Jumping under low ceiling platforms can still make you touch robot above it through the platform. Some unusual robot movement & behavior, including hit detection. Some unusual jump and fall physics different from the original. Game sometimes goes to a touch screen pause screen where it gets stuck permanently until you exit to title screen loosing all progress. Sounds of chessboard room are different and worse. Graphics have a slight anti-aliased smoothed out look to them. No control or other options (but XBox controller works fine). Elevator map shows full shaft (but without room connections until you find them) instead of showing it appear as you explore.
lots of bugs...game will freeze at odd times or just bring you to high score screen. Have never made it past 2nd elevator without a crash. super disappointed since i loved the original on the C64...played the crap out of it as a kid. DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Its a very old puzzle game, old school graphics. but hours of fun.
TOP ! Works very fine on my computer - Aaaaaaaaaah !
I guess I should have checked the comments before hitting the Pay button. Such a bugfest... I should have stayed with the C64 emulator version. Mixed up sounds, collision bugs (I mean the big black orb can sometimes follow you through the platforms, you can't jump out the door which is funny if there is a hole there), elevation platforms sometimes go up/down multiple platforms, etc. A really sloppy job. I think I want my Euro back. Wasn't worth it.
