oldbI tyt ?

oldbI tyt ?

I saw Gabe Newell at a grocery store in Seattle today. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen frozen mini cheese pizzas in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the pizza boxes and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each box and put them in bags and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Warning: Asset Flip!
oldbl tyt is an asset flip, what Valve calls a "fake game". The "developer", Easy Game/Game for People, took the How to Make 2048 in Unity tutorial/demo/game asset pack from the real developers, Info Gamer, changed the name, and dumped the result onto Steam. They're attempting to scam people into buying this, so they can get your money for someone else's work. Easy Game/Game for People has shown a repeat pattern of unethically dumping other people's work onto Steam as a cheap, nasty cash grab. Here's some examples so you can see for yourself:

"Sos i Pie Sos 2" = 2D Endless Runner Game Kit developed by SG Studio
"Achievements Printer" = Basketball - Complete Game Template developed by ADDPGAMES
"Seems good archery game" = Archery Physics Kit developed by HitCode
"Oh, you touch my balls ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)" = Brain Physic Ball developed by Fox Games
"Sos i Pie Sos" = Cheesy Run - Cartoon Runner Game developed by Digi Smile Limited
"Sky Jump" = Sky Jump Pack developed by SgLib Games
"Silent Tweets" = White Peas developed by EVGames
"Political Puzzle" = Slide Puzzle Game Kit developed by Eikester
"Reflex" = Bounce Mobile Game Unity Project developed by GhandiGames
The products that result from asset flips aren't "real" games. They lack depth and content, because they're just simplistic copies of demos or tutorials. In this case, "How to Make 2048 in Unity" is just a Youtube tutorial for making a simple mobile app maths game, and doesn't have any merit as a proper, fully fledged PC game, so a copy+paste of it can't be recommended. Asset flips don't involve any professional game development. Sure, sometimes they may change a few cosmetic things, swap out different assets etc, but at heart it's functionally identical to the asset they're ripping off. Asset flips are an insult to both PC gamers and to professional game developers who create genuine, high quality PC games. Asset flips like this are harmful to the gaming industry and to Steam because they reduce the visibility that sincerely made indie games should have. Don't reward this morally bankrupt, unethical behaviour from Easy Game/Game for People.
oldbI tyt ?, developed by Easy game and published by Game for people, is a very minimal puzzle experience built around a concept that will feel instantly familiar to anyone who has spent time with number-merging games. At its core, it follows the same fundamental idea: a small grid, numbered tiles, and the goal of combining matching values to reach higher numbers while managing increasingly limited space. It doesn’t attempt to disguise its inspiration or expand far beyond it, instead offering a stripped-down version of a well-established formula. The gameplay loop is simple and immediately accessible. Players slide tiles across a grid using directional inputs, causing identical numbers to merge when they collide. Each move introduces a new tile, gradually filling the board and forcing players to think ahead to avoid running out of space. The challenge comes from maintaining control of the board, planning movements carefully, and recognizing patterns that can lead to efficient merges. This kind of puzzle design is inherently engaging in short bursts, as each run creates a self-contained challenge that can be quickly restarted after failure. However, the experience remains almost entirely static from beginning to end. There are no new mechanics introduced, no alternate modes, and no meaningful changes in how the game plays as time goes on. While the core loop is solid enough to carry the experience for a while, the lack of variation becomes noticeable the longer you play. What initially feels satisfying can gradually shift into repetition, especially for players already familiar with similar games. The only real layer of progression comes from the inclusion of numerous achievements, which act as small milestones tied to in-game actions. These provide a sense of ongoing activity beyond simply reaching higher numbers, but they do little to alter the gameplay itself. Instead of introducing new challenges or systems, they function more as passive rewards that accumulate over time. For some players, this can add a bit of extra motivation, but it doesn’t fundamentally change the experience. Visually, the game adopts a very clean and functional presentation. The interface is easy to read, with clear numbers and simple color coding that ensures the board remains understandable at a glance. There is little in the way of stylistic flair or visual identity, but the minimalism works in favor of clarity. The lack of visual complexity keeps the focus entirely on the puzzle, though it also contributes to the overall feeling that the game is intentionally barebones. Audio elements are similarly understated, providing a light background presence without significantly enhancing the atmosphere. One of the more defining traits of oldbI tyt ? is its role as a casual, low-commitment experience. It is the kind of game that can be launched, played for a few minutes, and set aside without any loss of progress or context. This makes it well-suited for short sessions or as a background activity, but it also limits its depth. There is no larger goal beyond improving your score or reaching higher-numbered tiles, and without additional layers of complexity, the experience can feel fleeting. The biggest drawback is its lack of originality. Because it closely mirrors an already popular and widely available concept, it struggles to establish a unique identity. Players who have already engaged with similar puzzle games may find little reason to spend extended time here, as the experience does not introduce significant improvements or new ideas. It delivers a competent version of the formula, but rarely goes beyond that baseline. In the end, oldbI tyt ? is a straightforward and functional puzzle game that succeeds in providing a simple, accessible gameplay loop but offers little in terms of innovation or long-term engagement. It works well as a quick distraction and delivers exactly what it promises, but its limited scope and lack of variety prevent it from standing out in a meaningful way. Rating: 6/10
