Hey good folks, I wrote over 4k words in my review of this game and Steam cuts you off waaay before you reach 4k lol. I have A LOT to say about this game, and I'll be damned if it isn't the best review you'll read for this game. I'll post a link to my review on Substack, I really don't advertise myself on here like that, so I'm really putting myself out there for this one. Cheers. https://substack.com/@ogiubi/p-192979387
It's hardly as bad as some peopel make it out to be, overall i'd say about 6.5/10. Let's start with the weakpoints, since that i sprolly what will determine for most if they want to spend cash on this or not. 1. The script. The story and world building is pretty good for the most part, but the moment to moment interaction between the characters teeters between obnoxius and straight up bad. Unfortunately this bleeds over into the overarching story as well, and moments where the game seems to want us to think "hell yeah!" often fall flat due to it. 2. The grapple hook. This tool that you unlock pretty early on in the game seems to have a really wonky targeting, and you will oftentimes miss the enemy you are aiming for, and it gets even worse when used for puzzles, where sure it does reset your double jump when using it, but donm't think you can go chaining manuevers as yuo for some reason lose almost all momentum at the end of each swing. Let's put it like this, if you died from fall damage, the grapple hook platforming would be what kille dme the most. 3. Colour cooded combat. I don't mind the idea of using different colours to deal with different enemy strengths, but the fact that you have unlimited ammo means that you will find a favourite weapon that you'll mostly rely on, and then swap to the other colours contextually as needed to deal with the enemy defenses. i'm not sure ammo is the perfect solution, but it would force you to more naturally use more of the tools in your toolbox. The skill tree seem to incentivice jack of all trade builds though, since not upgrading a certain magic colour will leave you feeling that missing damage when you are forced to use it. For context i mostle played the blue "pistol" weapon utilising a crit build. played with a mouse and the crit zones on heads seem extremely generous so some 50% of all blue shots where crits. 4. Semi open world. This game is essentially a bunch of levels stiched together with loading screens, but it still plays at being semi open world in that it wants you to go back to previous levels to find new treasues and use new tools to unlock paths, oftentimes these rewards are nothing more than gold though, and overall i don't think this approch benefited the game, as i think it would have been better as a more focused linear experience. 5. the shield. this is a minor inconvinience, but the shield graphics can lead to a bit of visual clutter in an already cluttered game, i personally would have liked it if it was less intrusive to let me see what i'm actually shooting at..... also it dosen't help that you need to edit config files to get more than 90° FOV. 6. Upgrade system. All uppgrades are so incremental that it hardly feels worth upgrading anything untill you start getting legendary gear. and there never realy felt like there was a point where i would try to safe up for a specifik weapon, armor or ring etcetera, i just plopped on whatever i found and upgraded some of them as i went along. The system isn't bad, it's perfectly functional, but i don't think it added anything of value. Now onto the good. 1. Graphics. Theres no denying this game does look pretty good. Most of the areas look visually distinct, and the actuall design of stuff in the world is pretty awesome, i think it's a shame that this great world is trapped with this bad of a story, as it made me less interested in enganging with the world (reading logs etcetera). 2. Voice acting and music. While the script as mentioned is pretty ♥♥♥♥, the voice actors do the best with what theyre given, and they do a good job at that. While i found most of the characters grating, i din't mind how they sounded. To pair with this is the music, that is overall pretty good, thers not really any amazing bangers but all of the tracks add to the feeling of the world. I never digged along to the music, but i also never thought it was bad. 3. Combat. Appart from the above mentioned problem with there being no ammo, i think combat is enjoyable, all the weapons feel good to use and theres a wide enough variety that anyone can find a favourite. Most of the talent picks are also pretty interesting and some of them will let you slightly change your playstyle. For someone going the completionist route i think the combat will get stale, but if you just want to burst through the story it should hold all the way through. I'm slightly dissapointed that you don't get different ults to pick from, but it's also not to big of a problem. I think if they had released this as a AA game for 30-40 euro it would have had a much better reputation, for 60 euro i simply can't recomend it for anyone. I got it at 90% discount for 6 euro and would say it's well worth it at that price. Only had one crash as well so it seems to be decently stable. Anywho, as stated at the start, i'd give it 6.5/10 NOTE THAT IT REQUIRES LOGGING IN TO AN EA ACCOUNT.

A solid and fun game that has a interesting premise and lore, likeable characters and tight gameplay. The only sour points would be the enemy balancing make some enemies too spongey, frustrating puzzles and areas where you can see that the potenial of the game shinning through but not quite reaching what could have. Would recommend this as for a studio's first game this isn't bad.
Sehr guter shooter kann ich weiterempfehlen
