«Illusoria»
I want to thank the developers for the key for the game... With that, I must say ARGHHHHHHHHH! I really, really want to like this game. The art style and the sound ambience is beautifully done. However, this game not offering full controller support for this type of a game is maddening. Here are some of the highlights (and detailed scoring) of my first 1 hr and 20 minute first impressions livestream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Xq8tlan6ZY The game also starts off at about a 1 or 2 on a scale of 1 to 10 in difficulty, but quickly moves to about a 9 in mere minutes with way too unforgiving of a platformer timing and key press requirement. Add to this, the game requires too many difficult jumps in succession rapidly with no save points in between you wind up with a super frustrated player repeating the same section of your game 100 times. I consider myself a pretty patient gamer, but this game is wayyyyyy too unforgiving in certain spots. Add to this the game not offering full controller support and having bugs like telling you to hit "start" when you play the game with no controller even plugged into to read the notes you collect and the frustration mounts. I really wanted to like this game.. but ugh, I just cannot. My score for this game is a 35% and I don't believe many people will get much value from this game at the current $10 price tag, especially considering how unforgiving the game is demanding 3 key presses at the same time in certain spots all at exactly the precise time or you'll die and have to repeat yourself back to the last save point. Rinse & Repeat until you finally rage quit feeling frustrated beyond belief. That is NOT "fun". I hope the developers work to improve this game and add full controller support and make the game not have such a steep learning curve with such unforgiving jump timing, and perhaps I will re-evaluate this game in the future. It shows promise, it really does.
just happy that i got this ♥♥♥♥ for free
A combination of crappy controls and one hit = you are dead make the game a bad buy whatever price it is on it. * Every time you pressed the run button, the character ends it with doing a deacceleration animation that blows a bit of dust at his feet, it takes more then a second to watch. During this time you cannot do anything and it's the main reason you die in this game, since you need to run all the time. * If you want to sit down to make an attack you can do while sitting, the character very ofter roll into an enemy and die instead. Why? I don't know. * The fly forward attack randomly does not work at all and you jump to your death. You die at the start of the battle 90% of the times you try the last boss battle because of this. If the controls would have worked, he would have been pretty easy. * It's impossible to get all achievements due to the crappy controls. One control flaw and you are dead. The no death achievement is totally impossible because of this. Even though I have beaten the game now, I regret ever playing the game. No satisfaction came from beating it. Stay away from it.
For a platformer game the controls are very "floaty" and not very responsive, lot of deaths because if this and the frames of animations for the main characters. If the controls were tighten up a but this game would be fun to play but as if right now it's just frustrating.
Well I played through the first two chapters to get a feel for this game. I'm not sure when I'll come back to this game due to the frustration level of having to get a series of jumps and movements exactly right, or you die and have to start from the last checkpoint. In Chapter 1, this was not so bad in having to escape a tunnel while an earthquake was filling the tunnel with rocks. You had to do the jumps and movements not getting too far ahead or getting behind as the earthquake progressed. Each time I died, I learned a little more in the sequence of moves that need to be done just right in sequence. However, in the second half of Chapter 2 when you need to flip the the three levers, this got particularly annoying in that the checkpoint was from the first switch. There was a particular jump backward (with only the jump button at the right height) from a wall having to land on a temporary platform and then immediately doing the right kind of jump to go to the next wall. From there you had to go most of the way up, and again do a jump backward to get to the last switch. However, if you made the mistake of going all the way up and climb up, then the game does not allow a fall and grab onto the wall that most other games allow. Which means you must die and restart from the checkpoint. The problem is that you end up having to repeat this same sequences of screens and moves to get back to this jump point to try again. I found this unnecessarily annoying. If the controllers were either more responsive in being able to make mid-air corrections or if the game was more forgiving with more checkpoints, then this would definitely be an enjoyable game. This game has elements of being a puzzle platformer in having to figure out the right way to do a jump or get around an enemy. That I liked. I did not like being punished to the extent I was for making dumb mistakes. Given that I was playing on "Easy" and died repeatedly due to not making the correct jump at a particular point and having to then go through the whole long seqence again took away my enjoyment from the game. I would say of the time playing, I spent about 30% of the time enjoying myself, and the other 70% of the time being annoyed and frustrated. It has a cute art and graphics, but with the linear, unforgiving requirement of getting a relatively long sequence of jumps and manuevers just right, it's hard to recommend this game.
The controls in this game are terrible with a control pad. Sometimes it seems to just give the wrong response, mainly jumping up instead of left or right and being forced to complete such a long jump before starting another manouvre the way it does isn't good for platform games. I've been killed so many times because of this but the worst one is I just got killed because of the chasing rock fall because you just can't see what's coming up due to the camera moving far too slow and the rock fall closes quicker than the camera moves and it gets to where you have to jump blind consequentally feeling cheated when you die. Not fun.. EDIT - BTW, why on earth would you put run on the 9 0clock button. I would have thought one of the triggers or shoulder buttons. Or better still, enter the modern age of gaming and give us rebindable controls and let us choose for ourselves. Or perhaps default run and press to walk. A lot of positives may be spoilt by these issues, just my personal view you understand. EDIT 2 - I've just enrered chapter 2 and met the two fat geezers, found another scroll but as usual didn't press start thinking I'll read it later but then thinking that's the third or fourth and maybe I oiught to read them for important info maybe. Can't find a way to read them, is that correct, it's an optional read but if you don't read them when you get them that's it, you lose your chance. If that is the case then maybe they should open by default instead of by choice. Maybe there is a way to read them after and I missed it somehow. Great potential and cute graphics spoilt by crappy controls. Yeah, I've died many times and I can honestly say that the controls have caused most of them. You can learn the exact place to jump etc but it's no fun, just frustrating. I'm done.
The store page says that the product has trading cards, but it is not actually the case. There is no card drop or card page available.
Controls are atrocious, bad-NES level bad.
It is really bad game that have worst controls and one hit kill so even if you hit jump button in proper time, it is not guaranteed that you will be survived. In later stages, game become impossible to beat.
