Reviews
After returning to IL-2 after months away, I was initially impressed. The game finally ran smoothly: stable 100+ FPS at 3440x1440, high settings, no micro stuttering. Then the random crashes started again. Career missions, quick missions, different maps, same result: sudden crash to desktop without warning. Meanwhile other demanding games like DCS or RDR2 run flawlessly on my system. What makes this especially frustrating is the amount of money invested into maps and aircraft over the years. The flight model and atmosphere can be excellent, but the technical side still feels fragile and unreliable after all this time.
If you like WW2 Era games or Flight Sims, or both, it's one of a kind.

Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 18 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,498 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Fajna, Realistyczna gra
(Offline mode is now fixed; reverting back to Recommended) Not quite the level of autism as Digital Cockpit Simulator, but provides a great hands-on feel for all the aircraft, especially those without automated systems/engine management; it makes you feel you're doing some proper piloting. Much more accessible If you're solely looking for a more singleplayer experience, I'd probably still recommend IL-2 1946, just in terms of the breadth of content. Aircraft, all the different theaters e.g PTO and MTO, etc (and it's not locked behind egregious amounts of DLC) All that said, I have grown to love this game in its own right. The in-game Pilot Career is good from what I've played, but I've mostly being using Pat Wilson's Campaign Generator, which has been really great. The scripted campaigns are nice too. Multiplayer is a generally a good time. I usually frequent Combat Box and Finnish Virtual Pilots, for the more ongoing campaign feel, rather than airquake dogfight servers. My timezone means I tend to miss the peak hours but there's usually at least a handful of people when I join. Solo sorties are still enjoyable, especially with the map icons off and navigating on your own. (A note regarding hosting your own server: The game seems to solely rely on your ability to port forward, so if your ISP/router relies on things like CGNAT (from what I've read anyway) then it's basically impossible. I've tried using LAN tunneling programs like Hamachi/RadminVPN but no dice, at least from all the testing I've done. Any time my mate would be able to see my server, his game would just end up freezing when he'd try to connect. Other forum posts seem to say the same thing so it might be a fairly common issue. It was infinitely easier with 1946, I'll say that much. If anyone found a workaround, particularly with Radmin etc then let me know.) My gripes: Teammate AI/Comms are lacking compared to 1946, dogfights tend to be weirdly silent Honestly the worst thing about this game isn't even in the game itself, but the sheer amount of DLC and the price of it all. The collector planes range from useless (the glider) to great (Hs-129 my beloved), but all are not worth the amount of money if you're paying full price. I guess they're trying to market them like DCS modules or something, but they aren't nearly the full fidelity study-level aircraft that DCS provides. Thankfully they're on sale pretty often and at pretty deep discounts, sometimes you can pick up 5 or 6 for the price of one
its a good game (dont but dlcs unless they are on sale i got the deluxe dlc for $25 when its normally $110
