Ikao The Lost Souls

My First review ever go easy on me. currently 2 hours in Pros: Price- Very acceptable price for an indie platformer and on offer at time of review. Difficulty- Gradually increases in difficulty easing the player into it, very simple controls, no health bars (instant death ) respawns at start of level. Gameplay- Very smooth with a nice soundtrack to complement it. looks to be a short game but not easy to complete and a game i could play over and over again. Rage inducing - For me a Pro, when you die near the end of the segment and have to start again is brilliant, you will make mistakes but its all fun. Cons: Dialogue - 2+ hours in and no dialogue or story setting, probably an issue for some people. ( this does not take away from the game IMO) Introduction - No real introduction to in with explanations of key kindings or controller set up, again not a massive issue as the game is very simple to pick up and play. Progression - For me a little bit of an issue, no setting up of a story just press start and go. Settings- as of yet i'm unable to find any settings for sound, display ect. ( maybe i missed them ) Overall: First game i reviewed, Not bad at all, not for everyone but for me i've enjoyed every minute so far even named the ghost blob Bob, he has a harsher time of it so far, fairly priced game with very easy controls increasingly harder difficulties and rage inducing moments, i lost my temper in certain rooms due to the complexity of them, if you fancy a challenging platformer give it a go guys, Link to my Twitch stream for the cast of it so far see for yourself. Après sa sortie, il n'a d'autres choix que de parcourir le monde à la recherche de réponses sur les mystères entourant son passé. Il faudra donc, à travers de nombreux niveaux, 90 au total, aider Ikao à retrouver sa mémoire. Le jeu est un plateforme/aventure qui paraît très simple au premier abord, mais qu'il ne l'est pas vraiment. Dans Ikao The Lost Souls, vous allez donc devoir traverser les niveaux extrêmement dangereux, pour retrouver les souvenirs de ce tout mignon petit être. Le jeu propose deux phases de gameplay. La première, avec Ikao, qui pourra sauter, faire tourner sa queue pour aller un peu plus haut, se transférer vers des portails, ou encore se maintenir quelques secondes à des parois. L'autre phase de gameplay, se fera avec l’âme d'Ikao. Avec ce dernier, vous aurez la possibilité de sauter, et de vous envoler. Les deux phases sont assez similaires. Et lors des nombreux niveaux que vous allez traverser, vous devrez esquiver de nombreux pièges, comme des piques, des scies circulaires, quelques ennemis, ou encore des boules de feu. Ikao The Lost Souls propose une narration visuelle sublime, à travers des illustrations somptueuses qui arrivent à nous faire comprendre l'histoire assez facilement. Le jeu arrive facilement à nous charmer par son style, mais aussi par son OST vraiment magnifique. On s'accroche au petit personnage, et une fois lancée, on n'a qu'une seule envie, savoir le fin mot de l'histoire. YukiOstudio a vraiment réalisé un très bon petit jeu indépendant, avec une belle histoire, de belles musiques, tout en restant sur un style de jeu simple, mais efficace. Le seul petit souci que l'on peut reprocher au studio, c'est que son jeu peut être un peu trop difficile parfois, ce qui fera fuir bon nombre de joueurs. Mais pour ceux qui aiment les défis, vont être servis. Pour finir, Ikao The Lost Souls est un petit, mais très surprenant, jeu indépendant. On accroche très vite à l'univers, et surtout à l'histoire qui se raconte sublimement à travers de très belles petites illustrations. De plus, le jeu est accompagné d'un très bel OST, qu'on prend plaisir à écouter pendant notre aventure. La difficulté progressive du jeu, aura raison de certains joueurs. C'est peut-être le point noir du jeu, qui devient un peu trop difficile vers la fin, mais qui ne l’empêche pas d’être très bon quand même. D'ailleurs, on espère le voir prochainement sur Nintendo Switch, il y trouverait facilement son public. 힐링 게임같으면서도 어려운 편에 드는 플랫포머 작품입니다. 퍼즐 요소가 있는 스테이지, 플레이어의 컨트롤을 시험하는 스테이지가 여럿(총 98스테이지)있으며 스테이지를 하나하나 통과해보는게 꽤 재미있었습니다. 아쉬운 점은 (Xbox) 컨트롤러에 있던 키 셋팅을 그대로 키보드로 가져왔다는 점입니다.(A=점프 B=워프 등등, 설정을 통한 변경이 불가. 게임 플레이에 큰 지장을 줄 정도는 아닙니다.) 제 값어치, 그 이상을 하는 작품이라고 생각하는 바입니다.

Gave this game a genuine try. There's some good aspects to it, and ideas present, but it suffers from the issue that plagues many indie games, in that it's just a bit overly "safe" without really ever impressing me. The movement mechanics are pretty bare-bones and the level design doesn't really allow this game to thrive, at least as far as I got (like the 4th little chunk of levels). This is made worse by some mediocre presentation. Visually, the levels change very little in between, even when mechanics are added. The design of the levels is often pretty dull and overly simplistic. The obstacles changed very little from level to level, and there really wasn't much character to any of it; the character art in game really did not impress me, some of the animations just didn't sit right and weren't satisfying to use (the double-jump or the floating ability) and the minimalist storytelling did little to immerse me into this game (and the lack of a cutscene skip feature is kinda upsetting), and you end up switching characters with no real sense of rhyme or reason. Also, this game has some atrocious sound design; the sound effect for footsteps made me want to mute the game, and the music was just incredibly slow atmospheric/ambient music played ad nauseum, with no real soul to it. Furthermore the game seemed to have a bug any time I ran it where if I tried to alt tab, the window would open a couple seconds later, and this even forced a PC restart. It is a 2$ game so I can't really say I regret giving it a go nor that I expected it to be fantastic, but it still didn't feel worth it. There was effort put into the game, but I felt it was missing any real soul to keep me interested, at least for the hour-fifteen or so I played it.

I gave this game a try since it was on sale and the price itself was appealing to me. Actually It's a very challenging game (went myself nearly to frustration but there was always the motivation to keep going). and I loved the design of the levels and such. If you love platformers and a good challenge, this might be your game.

세일해서 990원짜리 쿨피스인줄 알았는데 사실 불닭볶음면이었다. 플탐5시간 총스테이지100개 순한맛 너구리와 매운맛 망자를 오가며 스토리를 풀어갑니다. 한글 지원은 없지만 딱히 문제가 되진 않습니다.(인터페이스만 영어) 전 요령이 없어 5시간만에 다깼지만 사람에 따라 단축될 수도 더 늘어날 수도 있습니다. 센스가 있다면 더 무난한 진행이 예상됩니다. 게임을 플레이하면서 먹을 수 있는 박스가 있습니다. 박스를 먹을때마다 99999의 카운터가 하나씩 줄어듭니다. 엔딩까지 다 먹어봤는데 6000개정도 먹었네요 99999개 다먹긴 에바참치고 딱히 게임에 영향을 주진 않는것 같습니다. 스토리는 중후반까진 재밌다가 엔딩부분이 이해가 잘 안됩니다. 게임은 재밌습니다. 여러분도 한번씩 해보세요^^ 갓겜맞음 빨간톱니를.....조심하라...

Beautiful illustrations and challenging gameplay make this side-scroller a fun and engaging game. Each level presents new challenges and new ways to overcome them. The soundtrack is superb. Its smooth tones help to balance out the stress of passing each level. I prefer to use a controller for this side-scroller but a mouse and keyboard work all the same.
